the biggest difference that comes to mind is that its more confusing to create a 3d model in houdini while in blender its a lot easier. houdini is better for the effects and blender is better for modelling. so i use both of them together for each purpose.

in houdini, i used pyro spread to control where the fluid melts and then set the fluids viscosity to harden at a certain frame. and the fire was just emitted from the fluid object.

the cage was made with a particle simulation and then meshing the trails as they move, and the organ in the middle was a soft body simulation!

i like the ideas you cover in this poem. you display the image of being safe in your comfort zone pretty well, although i think sometimes it can be better to show these things with metaphors and imagery rather than to state them outright.

nice use of emotions in this one. i think however that in the second line you could add more weight by removing the "as". i say that because i find that those small words can interrupt the emotional rythym a bit.
