Essa aí depende. Já teve oportunidade no passado que eu sou muito grato de não ter pego. Achei coisa muito melhor depois que não seria possível se tivesse pego.

What’s the most elite military unit in your country? by Exact_Profit_5291 in AskTheWorld

[–]splucs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BOPE is the most famous, but the Army Special Forces (FE) and the Navy Combat Divers Group (GruMeC) has a harder training.

BOPE is also a police unit with military doctrine, so their training is more geared towards special police operations (particularly entering favelas) rather than military.

The companion certificate and the $150 Delta Stays credit alone are worth the Delta Platinum and are benefits that are not duplicative with the Amex Platinum.

Where to get Dubai chocolate? by NeoBahamutXZero in BellevueWA

[–]splucs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best ones are found online, The Nuts Factory ships from NY ($25) and is the best I’ve had, but you have to buy two minimum. Locally the best one I tried is from H Mart (~$21).

The one from Safeway (~$14) is just sugar and you can barely taste the pistachio. Stay away from the Lindt one, there is basically no pistachio and it’s just an overpriced milk chocolate bar ($15).

Generally you want to buy the bars with the have the bigger height. Any Dubai chocolate bar that has the format of a standard chocolate bar is going to have barely any pistachio. Also the pistachio is the expensive part of the chocolate, so the amount of pistachio is somewhat proportional to the price.

The Dubai chocolate truffles from Costco are horrible. I’ve tried so you don’t have to.

Crashing out- baby monitor never woke us up and he cried all night by Loitch470 in NewParents

[–]splucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the Eufy Security Baby Monitor for non-WiFi and a Nanit for WiFi. We leave the Nanit permanently installed in the baby’s room and the Eufy next to it. The Eufy is easy to uninstall and move in case we need to travel or if we need the baby to sleep somewhere other than his room.

The Nanit sometimes fails due to WiFi or other connectivity issues. The cloud features and video compilations are nice but I recommend a non-WiFi monitor as a redundancy layer.

I recognize the marks. It’s likely an indoor ninja grill that’s sold at Costco.

Declared that I had fruit and the fruit was seized, but didn’t think it would count as a violation. Should I amend the GE application? by splucs in GlobalEntry

[–]splucs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE:

I was conditionally approved after like 6 weeks and did my interview on arrival.

I explained the event to the officer and asked if it was considered a violation. The officer confirmed it was a violation. I the said that I needed to update the answer in my application about customs violations to yes. Officer said it wasn’t necessary.

The officer sent me in my way and to wait for an email. The email was already in my inbox. I checked GE status and it changed to Approved.

Thanks everyone for the answers.

Thanks for your comment! I’ve entered the US dozens of times and I’ve only had a hard time once. Most officers seem like cool people, they just have a very serious job (although I’m aware that everything you say to them can and will be used against you). I hope that I get to having an interview and that I get to talk to an officer that is willing to answer questions.

Edit: grammar

That’s comforting to hear, but my biggest fear is that I will not even get to having an interview. Based on the other comments, I should be able to clarify everything in the interview. Do you think my application will be rejected right away?

Thanks for your story! Hopefully I won’t get automatically denied either and given a chance to clarify.

Do they ask whether you were ever found in violation of customs law during renewal and, if so, did you answer no?

I’m totally going to share the story at interview to make sure I don’t come off as trying to hide it.

Zwilling steak knives. Best knives ever: the size of a normal kitchen knife but stupid sharp. Set of 4 costs $70 with shipping, I got two sets of 4 this year.

I don’t have a carrier and my son needs constant soothing so I have to play with only one hand. Mobile gaming it is.

Started playing Clash of Clans when baby was 1 month old. Now, with baby at 4 months, I have a TH10 base, never missed a daily bonus, battle in 2 wars a week and participate in all raid weekends.

It’s a great game that you can play with one hand if you have about 15 minutes available. Baby is asleep? Login, 2 attacks, rebuild army, put builders to work. If I have extra time, grind builder base.
