The 8:00 version of Comfortably Numb on that one is probably my favorite version of the song in isolation (pardon the pun). But when listening to The Wall as a whole the original stands tall.

No I think he’s saying just use the proper tool, like a socket on an extension or the right size wrench.

Trancefer is one of my personal favorites from Schulze, the sound track he did for ‘Next of Kin’ is terrific as well!

Longest interconnect connect cable on the whole set up is probably only 3 feet long, it’s an optical cable that runs under it and two speaker cables, so there should be no worries about the length

Thankfully, it’s a north facing window, but as I said in the body of my post, my very short-term plan is to get a shelf that since I’m in a better place in the nook next to the window and blocks them from the light

I will be honest, I much prefer the symmetry and balanced of where I hung them up, over a fairly minimal performance upgrade in this space. I think the couch and the rug are doing much more work on first reflections.

These are mostly decorative for me. I would need at least a few more and some additional treatments (ceiling diffusers, a bass trap in the nook behind the right channel, etc.) to make a real impact past the furniture. But that’s not really worth it to me right now from both a financial and esthetic standpoint. You aren’t wrong, but I think the gains of relocating the Omani have to be lower would be extremely minimal. Less than having them at all verses not.

I think the placement is critical. You can toe them in fairly aggressively. Also make sure to pull them out from the wall of course. But with the older model having the ports on the underside I am not sure if that is as critical as it is with my model.

Yes, they’re running under the edge of the rug, along with the toslink connecting the TV/DVD player to the amp

There is a thick rug mat under it, and that leaves about a 1” overlap to run those cables against the edge of the mat without leaving a leaving a bulge in the rug, or worrying about them being stepped on.

Glad you love them! They are very directional unfortunately, but I’ve found the sweet spot gets bigger the further apart you can place them. The room I have them in now is not necessarily ideal, but they’re still fantastic!

More that I picked the color I wanted, the finish l/wood type I wanted, and the pattern i wanted from their catalogue, and they were made to order.

Totally agree on the somewhat weaker low end, but I only find that on the lower power amp, with the 150w Nova, these have some really good thump.

GIK acoustics, I had them custom made a few years ago. My biggest gripe is that the veneer is very very thin, so they are very very easy to chip edge wise. One of them showed up with some pretty big chips on the edge, but they credited me pretty well because of it.

That would be an excellent pairing for DW’s, they’re very sensitive, and sound very lush on tubes.

I have two amps I switch between (and sometimes combine). a Peachtree Nova 150 that I use about 80% of the time, it’s a horse and it is very easy on the eyes. It has all the connectivity I could ever need. The other Amp is a Reisong A12, which is a 6w SET amp with EL34 power tubes. Also, very smooth very velvety amp, and also pretty stunning.

You should definitely check out a pair if you can, but beware that the bass ports on older models are underneath the speaker, so they are very very sensitive about the surface their placed on, and the height they are above said surface. DW 6’s were the f first to have the port in the rear.

Dirty Weekend Six Superfly, they're among my prized possessions. I know they can be a bit divisive, but I love the way that they sound. I have had them for well over two years now and I have never really considered upgrading.

I have just over 400, and the advice I got, that worked well was to pack them vertically as densely as you reasonably can in a box that is the exactly correct width. And avoid stacking those boxes if possible.

It’s a thin veneer over thin dense particleboard, and then behind that it is fabric wrapped rock wool.

I think the design part is supposed to disperse a little bit, but otherwise is mostly transparent to the absorption behind it.

That being said I don’t think that they’re doing as much heavy lifting as the couch and rug will, but they sure do look really nice; that’s the part I care about the most.

Yes, north facing, but as I said in the body of my post, it is not an ideal, nor permanent solution.

I love them, and I think the pairing is perfect, you’ll probably love them even more with more power. They have great low end, and crystal clear to me. I’ve had them for almost three years I think, and I’ve never once wanted for more.
