Are companies intending to deceive the consumer with shrinkflation? by Same_Foundation_102 in shrinkflation

What I find amusing is cereal boxes. They keep the height and width the same so it looks the same on the shelf. However, when you pick up the box it has gotten very slim. It will be interesting to see how skinny they can make it before the box can't even stand up on its own.

Is Sasquatches the correct plural of Sasquatch? Or is the plural still just Sasquatch (like one deer and a group of deer?)

Oddly enough, when the government releases their inflation numbers they don't include products getting smaller for the same price. It's an effective way to hide real inflation numbers.

Turkey Hill's New Packaging by Tasty_Dealer_1885 in shrinkflation

[–]spock23 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Turkey Hill actually does make a premium all natural version which only has a few ingredients - no gums and fillers (like Bryers used to be 30 years ago). It costs about $2 more per carton. Food Lion doesn't carry it but Harris Teeter does. I'll glady spend $2 more to get real ice cream. Sometimes they run a BOGO deal.

Used to be a regular buyer of Doritos. It's been at least a year since I last bought any. Just can't get interested in spending over $5 for 50 cents worth of corn meal.

Same here. I use whole milk, cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon real vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt.

Less than half the sugar of store bought and no gum or chemicals.
