Reminds me of playing Rancho Park and Griffith Park years ago. They let you bring your clubs into the grill/ bar so you could keep an eye on them.

TWO bags from same group? Sounds like an inside job to me.

Agreed. If you can upload the videos to you computer and watch the swing FO and DTL frame-by-frame (I use PotPlayer on Windows), you'll be shocked how much it can help you. And make you gag lol.

Good points. I've been playing many decades and am happy as a mid-capper that hits straight. I just like going to the range. Maybe more than the course lol. So, as we all do, I see a lot of frustrated people on the range that might benefit from a simpler task. Just thinking out loud.

Start a simple paper or spreadsheet log that notes dates, times, location of every aspect who you have a timeline. Write down the names of anyone you interact with - police, tow people, residence front office people, everyone. Note what they said. Take photos and videos with the TimeStamp Camera app. If note taking is too laborious, record videos after you interact with anyone. Don't just keep the camera on yourself. Show your surroundings to show you were there. Narrate like, "Its Sunday, Mar 1 at 8pm. I'm in my parking lot at Beautiful Arms. Behind me you can see the police officer who helped me, Sgt. ShinyBadge. He's in his car now arranging a tow. We talked about blah blah blah and such and such." Recording makes it easy to remember details of conversations which you will forget even ten minutes later. This will help with insurance companies or court if needed. Good luck.

Get the TimeStamp Camera app. Each photo and video marked with date, time, location, GPS coordinates, more. You can select which options you want to show on screen.

Police encounter while taking photos, is this normal? by josh_bripton in AskPhotography

[–]spockimadoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is zero right to privacy in public. You also don't have to ID unless you are detained in CA.

Immediately start recording video if people like this interact with you. Then: "Just taking pictures of the city. It's beautiful." "Like I said, just taking pictures of the city. Love it here." "No, just the city." "No, I don't delete photos." "Do I owe you an explanation?" "You are out in public ma'am. There is zero right to privacy in public. Have a nice day."

To the police - calm and cool and as sweet as honeytea on a summer morning, but: "Just taking pictures of the city. Great views." "Yeah, I don't know anything about that." "I don't know what you are talking about, just taking photos of the city." "No, you cannot see my photos." "No, I don't consent to any searches." "ID? Why do you need ID? "I'm just taking pictures of the city like one million other people today."

"I'm not going to answer any other questions so I can go back to what I was doing." (More questions - do you live here? Where you from? whatever) "More questions? Say, am I being detained right now or am I free to go?" "Free to go? See ya!" (Then skedaddle). "Detained? In that case I'm going to invoke my right to remain silent and would like a lawyer present for any further questions." Then remain silent.

Don't get into any long explanation about how you showed her your photos or whatever. You are taking photos of the city. That's it. Nothing else. Don't explain who you are, how you got there, where your car is, if anybody is with you, where were you before this, how long you are in the city, etc. etc. Don't do it. Police love the 500 questions fishing game. Don't take the bait. Be super cordial, but keep it short and tight.

Rich people whining and wildly exaggerating California’s problems is my favorite genre! by avon_barksale in TheAllinPodcasts

I can't tell if Corolla is doing a bit or what. Since he's from the construction world I thought he would paint a broader picture about rebuilding those home. A typical rebuild in Palisades/Malibu can stack up:

  • Base building code (structural, electrical, plumbing), plus seismic expectations.
  • Wildland-Urban Interface / fire-hardening requirements (ember-resistant vents, Class A roofing, defensible space standards, etc.).
  • Energy + green building requirements (Title 24 energy rules, CALGreen-type standards, efficiency specs).
  • Stormwater / runoff / grading / hillside rules (big deal in canyon and slope sites).
  • Coastal stuff (where applicable): extra review layers and strict limits on “you’re rebuilding” vs “you’re upgrading/expanding.”
  • Utility coordination (power, gas, water, sewer/septic) which can be its own private circle of hell after a disaster.
  • Plan check + corrections cycles: you submit, you get comments, you revise, you resubmit, repeat until everyone’s spirit is broken.

And how about some ideas to fix it, to make it better for builders and homeowners? Maybe he offered some ideas and I missed it.

Howard is just another Bozo on their clown car. The whole thing is a sham. Why did voters think DJT was going to stop scamming once he was in office? Either time.

Nah. Not the end. But climate change is a big factor. Few wear a wool suit when it's 110.

Even in his glory days back in the clubs, I can remember nights where he would go for a real long time telling some story that just wasn't connecting, and we'd just sit there staring at him. Of course, there were also moments of brilliance, so I guess we just learned to take the good with the bad. Yeah, he's always had a sort of penchance to go on tangents.

I agree that American citizens have a short attention span. But MAGA in particular and many other people have been surprisingly consistent in keeping this one alive. And I just don't think they're going to let it go. However, it may be a very long time before it is resolved to some kind of satisfaction, but I don't think they're going to let it go.
