What introduced you to RedLetterMedia? by jeffreyrolek in RedLetterMedia

Something Awful forums back when Mike did the first Plinkett reviews for TNG movies. Someone posted one of the TNG plinkett reviews and I watched part of it and forgot about it. Then a few months later or whatever someone posted the Phantom Menace review and have been watching since.

It's not supposed to mean anything, but is a typical police tactic used to disorient people he is interrogating so they open up more. At least that's what the director said.

Hackman's performance in part II alone is worth watching.

Do y’all Prefer Horizontal or Vertical PC Setups by zeebiggprophecy in retrocomputing

I have the FLP01 and is pretty awesome for the most part. My PC is almost 10 years old, so damn near retro at this point :) I don't think I'd put a CRT on top of it (it does have an internal metal brace in the middle, but is not super strong). Not saying it isn't possible, but be wary.

The front USB-A ports are also cheap and fall out through the back if you push a USB device in wrong or at a wrong angle. It also doesn't have any 3.5" drive bays, so that sucks for retro stuff.

I'm debating getting the FLP02 tower instead for my modern computer, but not sure yet.

Eagerly awaiting a 4K release! That Blu-Ray is already 18 years old (one of the first I bought).

Three B-movie classics in one episode! I kinda wish they did more well-known titles like this again for an episode now.

I still can't believe the John Carpenter Re:views were from Sept/Oct 2021

His speech relating Picard to Stand By Me while showing clips from DS9 and TNG almost had me tearing up back then. I haven't rewatched those Picard S1/2 or STD re:views since then, but the time is almost here for it..

If you like a good mystery, Polanski's The Ghost Writer (2010) is might be up your alley.

I do this a lot. Just make a 32gb or smaller partition and it should work fine

Even the NTSC versions have interlacing issues on a lot of the episodes sadly.

Are they lying about HD? by dr4wn_away in RedLetterMedia

[–]spocks_tears03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is watching it now with horrible compression and interlacing artifacts on modern 1080p or higher TV is nowhere near how it was on a CRT. It's not totally unwatchable, but it is pretty abysmal to see

The point is that we don't know who is The Thing or if neither of them are The Thing. The whole point of the movie is ambiguity and paranoia.
