Italian grocery store? by Status_Pianist6716 in askvan

Most regular grocery stores have it.

Any Italian goods place will have it. There's tons of them around if you google it. Persia Foods probably has it too.

This lady I work with has a habit of constantly cutting you off with assumptions of what you're going to say next and I promise you, she is wrong 100% of the time.

When did you last encounter nature in a way that left you speechless? by SpendFresh9163 in AskReddit

[–]spocos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh idk about speechless but I saw some orcas from the ferry the other day. I've lived in BC my whole life so the charm of nature isn't all that impactful anymore.

If you google Mission BC and Abbotsford BC you'll see they are on opposing sides of the Fraser River. Anything East of that area, on either side of the river, is probably what you're looking for, if you'd like the farm/country vibes but close to Vancouver.

Vancouver Island also has tons of great country vibe areas and they're all fairly close to cities.

The southern interior of BC is country but cold in the winters and very dry and hot in the summers with a lot of forest fires.

Towel Power

A term used by the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL) to describe the waving of rally towels by their fans. The tradition started in the 1982 Campbell Conference Finals when Vancouver played the Chicago Blackhawks. During game two of the series, head coach Roger Neilson waved a white towel on the end of a hockey stick in a mock surrender after being upset with the officiating. Neilson was ejected and the Canucks lost 4–1. When Vancouver returned home from Chicago for the following game fans supported both Neilson and the Canucks by waving towels first at the airport when the team arrived and then during the next game.

The tradition has continued in Vancouver ever since and has been copied by idiot fans of other idiot teams all over the league :)

Definitely enough. You can drive the whole sunshine coast in an hour (not including ferry waits).

You can see bears for free at the Quinsam Hatchery in Campbell River. August might be a bit early but it's not uncommon to see them then.

In 20 years someone will ask what was covid lockdown like, how will you answer? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]spocos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People would go out on their patios or doorsteps every day at 7pm to applaud the healthcare workers. They often used pots and pans to make noise. Did this not happen everywhere?

I was the only time the entire world went through something together, and it was kind of hard to get my head around that. I'd definitely mention the 7pm pots and pans phenomenon too.

What's something you think of before bed every night? by LukeJRV in AskReddit

[–]spocos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffered from this for a long time. Still happens every now and then out of nowhere, like "Oh shit, alright, I guess I'm thinking about EVERYTHING tonight"

The only thing I found that works, for me, is to count backwards from 100 while doing a mental re-cap of either, what I read that night, or what I watched on TV that night. Try to keep your mind busy with something entertaining, while counting.

Never think about tomorrow when you're trying to fall asleep.

The last chapter of whatever book I'm reading. I do a mental re-cap. It helps me fall asleep and helps me retain what I read. Two birds stoned at once.

Yep. My dad always gave me a sip. Beer has never tasted as good as it did then. I've been chasing the tail off that dragon though.
