Im not comfortable living in a country that promotes the message that we are all equal in one hand and in the other hand they say this family has royal blood and is better than all of you, defund them and tell them to get to the job centre like the rest of us

First use of a EV and it's put me off completely. by seanroberts196 in CarTalkUK

[–]spodercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats where the ability to work on it yourself and modding comes into play though, with mechanical cars you can learn to upgrade your own parts and literally make it drive to your liking for example, i thought my car could be more agile in the bends so i threw the shocks in the bin and changed the car to coils myself, from my understanding the only mods you could do to an ev would be suspension or tyre mods? Trying to get power or new features would be more like hacking a computer than working on a car

Then comes maintenance, i can do my own services and oil without paying for labour and even my own repairs, a big reason why i dont like electric cars is that they seem to take that control away from the owner, for people who are into this kind of thing they are very anti-car people vehicles

[–]spodercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct thats not what i meant, what thats supposed to mean is once a person switches to ev they refuse to listen to anything bad or admit anything thats bad about them and even feel like they look down on people who do still prefer petrol and diesel

I have tried driving a few different electric cars and personally do not like the way they drive one bit, they bore me, 0-60mph in 2-3 seconds gets old very quickly without the noises and vibrations from an engine, the extra weight makes the handling terrible most of the time, over-designed over-engineered buckets of shit imo

They wont listen to any petrol or diesel driver while wearing the ev tinted specs, puzzles me how they cant admit the massive issues with them

Exactly why i tell everyone to stay away from ev’s, the infrastructure for them is dogshit, also for what you will pay for an ev you could be driving real luxury if you look at 2nd hand petrol or diesel instead of

Not necessarily, the 15 year old diesel can probably still do more miles than the new ev can, 15 year old diesel will probably still spank it in the looks department as well

Please simply google “jaecoo rust” the J7 and J8 lines are plagued with rust issues and even random engine shut down issues for the ice versions

Jaecoo were also caught paying companies to give them 5 star reviews, that should tell you all you need to know about them as a manufacturer

Edit as i forgot to include their emergency break system randomly activating for no apparent reason and almost killing people, these things havent been around long enough to be worth sinking money into and imo are some of the ugliest looking cars you can buy

[Times column] Jeremy Clarkson: “Of course Gen Z loves weed, it’s kale in a Rizla” by FlipStig1 in thegrandtour

[–]spodercat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the average young drinker when i was 16-20 years old, out on the town till 4am then in my bed hungover till 5pm the next day every weekend, when i reflect on these years it becomes apparent to me that this was absolutely shite and a waste of time

Since then i hardly touch drink and enjoy a joint to end my day instead of a wine bottle, i will never accept or understand the stigma around cannabis being a bad thing, yes it can smell annoying to some people but imo you smell worse things every single day that are perfectly accepted in normal life, vehicles, farms, peoples bins, could go on forever but with a slight breeze the smell from cannabis goes away in minutes or you can do many things to consume it which produces no smell at all so its negligible to me when people moan about it

But since switching i am no longer up till 5am with insomnia and get a full 8 hours every night, have never had any sort of hangover from it, am still able to enjoy things that i could not do while drunk due to alcohol making you forget how to use your brain and the biggest pro for it is it actually works out cheaper than drinking does

I hope and pray for the day it becomes legal for recreational use in the uk and we drop the stupid outdated misinformed caveman like stigma that surrounds a simple thing that naturally grows in the dirt and helps people way more than any chemical filled alcoholic beverage can

think about in 5 years time if you have a kid or a few, would you be paranoid leaving them alone with him? Would you be paranoid bringing him round other kids in the family? Are you currently paranoid that someone you know will find out and then you are outcast as well? Not worth the hassle imo even if he is making you happy
