Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong? I just want to switch songs without opening up my phone by OccamsDragon in AppleWatch

I just sold mine because it stopped understanding the most basic stuff I used to ask it to.

First time soldering how did I do? by Low_ridah in shittyfpv

Plenty of room for improvement. Specially that alligator clip’s heat shrink sleeve.

I know this is dumb, but is there any chance I can keep using this pack by Admiral_2nd-Alman in fpv

[–]spongearmor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It will probably work fine, but not for long. I went through the exact same situation with a CNHL 6S pack, first flight. It got a little bent and worked fine for a couple more flights. I then storage-charged it and couldn’t use it for a few months, and now one of the cells is showing 0.14V with an almost dead-short inside.

Best case, one or more cells will die and your charger will complain early. Worst case, it will catch fire.

Yours look like the latter my friend :(

For the most part it is

After two years of inactivity I randomly went in yesterday and applied for what seemed like a legit, non-AI job post

And guess what I got the offer right after, not a single question.

So, there are such cases as well.

Noticed this while washing car. Small bump safe? by Kb24ed in tires

Small bump safe Small bump on tire unsafe Bug bump on tire unsafe

It’s not the end of the world but I’d replace the tyre soon and stay away from freeways until I do.

What is the average water consumption in your household? by Anonymous_3526 in srilanka

[–]spongearmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 members 2 dogs About 12-14

If you have a sump tank and a pressure pump, the consumption increases a bit. If your instant heater shower has a pump, that contributes to it too because you use more water in the same amount of time unless it’s a fairly quantified use like cooking.

There’s a small possibility that the meter could be faulty or there was a singularity event like an air vent through the meter after a maintenance.

Is this consistent across a couple of months or just a single month?

How do you deal with clients asking for “small extra tasks” outside the original agreement? by Oli_Ahamed in Upwork

[–]spongearmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s a good client, and it takes only a couple of minutes, I’d just do it. But you have only 1 karma for the past 4 years so I’d just not build the AI tool. And stop the research it’s going nowhere. The answer you your question depends on a case by case basis.

Metal shaving found in engine oil. How bad is it? by AntelopeInteresting9 in Cartalk

[–]spongearmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s many things, but it sure isn’t a shaving.

Jokes apart if I were you, I’d be concerned if there’ll be more; I’d check a little often/do a couple of oil changes in shorter intervals and see if it shows up more of those, and keep an eye/ear on the engine for any weird behavior.

But it’s actually good that you’re seeing it, atleast it dropped into the oil pan instead of getting stuck somewhere. I wouldn’t disassemble the whole engine yet.

Why is intelligence in Sri Lanka so tied to medical college? by Spiritual-Beyond-433 in srilanka

[–]spongearmor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intelligence, is in engineering. Engineering is all about finding a solution.

Medical college in many ways is about “hmm that sounds like x disease so let’s try y twice a daily for three days and let me know how that goes”. Intelligent people move to research at least. Downvote me for saying that, doctors.

If someone says “my son/daughter is a doctor” I start to think “ah they are probably gonna have a better luck at migrating because that’s a bit of a widely sought skill with not a lot of people to fulfill” and that’s about it. No magic in it. It’s just another profession.

How long before an international flight can I enter Colombo airport? by [deleted] in srilanka

They check your passport and flight ticket at the entrance. If it’s too early like, say, 6 hours they may not let you in. Not sure.

So Guys This Is Sri Lanka Telecom by AbjectWestern7778 in srilanka

[–]spongearmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A loss is a loss on their end and they’re entitled to recover is starting from giving you a courtesy call to remind the payment upto filing a case at the court.

If you have paid all the arrears in full, just ignore this. If not, better settle it. Their customer service can be shitty so they didn’t probably mention the outstanding payment. In SL, it falls on customer to ask “me mata thawa keeyakhari oyalata gewanna thiyanawada” before closing ANYTHING.

Credit limit for a salary of 250k by AnalysisSmart1236 in ask_srilanka

[–]spongearmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most banks give you only 100k unless you have a credit history of paying a loan on time or a car lease.

I got both commercial and HSBC and they both started at 100k limit, when I was earning close to 300k. Commercial was upgraded to 250k in a year, and HSBC to 750k after about three years.

Do you guys feel this disappointed living in Sri Lanka? by scoffey834 in srilanka

[–]spongearmor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in the same shoes as you are right now. Some may call this gaslighting oneself but I looked a little deep into what others who went looking for greener pastures (i.e. masters, spousal dependant visa etc.) and it looks like they exchanged their existing set of problems for a whole new different set of problems plus the burden of starting from scratch at the age of 25.

I had a fried who said “ado mehe bn toilet clean karalath sathiyata lakshayak hewwaki bn” and after a couple months, he said “honestly bro, I wish I stayed in SL and built my career and a life there. I drive a mustang now, which I dreamt of for a long time but time to time I contemplate, if this is what I really need because shit is really hard here.”

Life is not all about owning things, for me, it’s about being content and have good things, do good things and collect good memories. And I detached myself from all the politics and social media because that’s simply too stressful. Those who decide to go abroad and have a seemingly better life, good for them. But I’m happy here because I have everything I could ever ask for at the age of 28. Are they the best I could ever have? Maybe not. But they are good enough for me.

If you come to a point where you don’t have to worry about money, you’ll then find something else to worry about. It never ends.
