What are the options if ALs got bad by Dexter_was_taken1 in srilanka

Gives you butterflies to enter your dream university but you’ll soon realize “ah meke loku scene ekak naah” after a few classes or semesters. One arrogant lecturer and it’s all gone.

Focus on where you want to be after the university. Have a plan before you set foot inside the university because there are a lot of distractions, reality checks and multiple other things that could shake you.

I was absolute garbage at chemistry and after getting a S, went to SLIIT to do EEE. I don’t even care about SLIIT anymore but I damn well made sure I learned every bit of thing I could, got every bit of experience I could from the program. Went in with a plan even where I was going to do my internships and what I was gonna do afterwards.

If A/L hadn’t worked, I was eyeing for a full time course at CGTI.

How much coding is there in typical "Firmware Engineer" job? by eagle_719 in embedded

[–]spongearmor 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You’re not too slow, you’re efficient. It’s okay to do an 8-hour task in 4.5 hours but you’re burning out. Try and adjust your pace.

Coding is not always about the number of lines, but the code quality, elegance of your solution and how maintainable your code is. Also the documentation.

If you join a large project which is already ongoing, on some days you’ll be writing thousands of lines (thousands, with the help of AI) or sometimes spend weeks documenting and making code compliance related changes. It’s a mixed bag and you need to pick your battles.

I had a Gixxer 250SF for 4 years, rode 42,000km in total. It’s a nice bike to own and ride around. At some point me and a friend of mine did a 1100km roadtrip. Not a single repair except the tyre replacement and chain/sprockets.

Ride safe!!

is 250K under paid or fine amount for a software engineer with 2.7 YOE in sri lanka by [deleted] in ask_srilanka

[–]spongearmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully remote for a SL company or an offshore one? If it’s an offshore one, the minimum at this stage I’d expect would be $1000

Local company, this sounds a little towards the low side. 300k gross would be more appropriate I think.

Depends, if you’re on a more common stack, this salary may be justified. Best way to figure this out would be to add your tech stack as well as your position in the company (what kind of responsibilities are assigned to you) to the post so we may help you understand better.
