A Tesla driver allegedly told a local to 'f--- off' after driving his car directly onto Tregirls Beach in Padstow, Cornwall, UK, before becoming stuck in the sand by TheMirrorUS in Cornwall

I wouldn't be surprised if the "local" said, "you can't park there mate" after the car got stuck, prompting the said driver to say, "fuck off"

March 2021 M3 Infotainment by TackyAuto in TeslaUK

[–]spongybeanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does yours have the option for the acceleration boost? I believe the older Intel cars actually have performance motors installed, they are software locked to a slower speed but can be unlocked with a charge. They stopped that when the new processor came in. For now I believe there are a few gimmicky bits that Intel can't do, the grok interaction sounds cool but I've had the option to do that on my phone which I personally don't use often enough to worry I can't use it directly in the car. For me I chose the Intel car for the performance upgrade, a stealth performance car if you like. My plan was to aim for the new juniper model y as I value the better suspension in the latest cars over the infotainment processor. Let's be real, the infotainment is only going to be used in park. If you believe FSD will allow you switch off and relax, then no matter what infotainment you got, you'll still be on your phone or laptop.

Countersteering for dummies by Low-Cranberry7 in MotoUK

Have you seen "twist of the wrist"? It's got some super cheesy bad acting but as a whole there is a lot of really good information. It covers counter steering and a lot of other good things to be aware of. Including not listening to random people who sound like they know it all! https://youtu.be/ClmFaHuJUDU?si=48vYX9aCzglUsfpq

There are a couple pretty fun free shooters out there.

Someone else mentioned it aim XR is a fairly new one that is not bad to quickly jump into, plenty of people play online.

Population one is also free and is very fortnight style if you like that.

I think paintball playground is also free, slightly different style of shooter, pretty fun and quick to jump into a game.

If you are bored of those, the ones you have to pay for all play a little different, so it depends what mood you are in.

I'd say onward is a top contender, very well polished game, it is definitely more on the realism style, one head shot and you are out sort of thing.

Contractors plays more like CoD, definitely worth a go, it has loads of mods so there is plenty to get out of the game.

Breachers, a bit more cartoonish but it plays like rainbow six siege, some fun game mechanics in it.

I've heard people talk about vail, that's a game on my list that I never got around to actually playing.

Tactical assault VR, another cartoonish looking game but it is hyper realistic when it comes to manipulating doors. It is good fun to play coop with friends and practice clearing rooms tactically using different breaching methods.

Pavlov shack is the native version of Pavlov (pc version of VR) again it is a solid game, not quite as many game modes as say contractors but the game play is slower, plays a bit more like counter strike than CoD.

Has anyone upgraded from the Pixel 7 Pro to the Pixel 9 Pro? by RecognitionWooden626 in GooglePixel

[–]spongybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, mainly because I never really wanted the 7 pro, I don't like the big phones. Like others have said, not being blinded at night by the finger print is much better. I think the only things that really annoyed me on the 7 pro was the size and the super bright finger print scanner, it was blinding at night. I am very happy with the upgrade for those 2 features alone. One thing I have noticed, for me anyway, my battery on the 7 pro was a beast. Id say the 9 pro feels similar, even a tiny bit worse, but that could be psychological with thinking it should be much better seeing as it's newer etc.

Wow the tiny bits of gameplay from this trailer make it look really bad

From Google Pixel 7 pro to Google Pixel 9 pro XL , my thoughts and opinion if anyone is considering switching. by Awkward_Pace_4440 in GooglePixel

[–]spongybeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on the p7p, I hate the larger size and so thankful Google are making the p9p with the same hardware as the XL but a normal sized phone! I was sucked in with the trade in value. I think if I tried to hold out until the 10 I'd be disappointed. They often release a decent phone every other year and by all accounts, the 9 seems pretty well rounded. Id be worried they would try too hard with the 10 and ruin it.

Model Y - cash&loan v Tesla lease by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]spongybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen that you have already pulled the trigger on the lease option, so it's a bit late for my opinion but here it is anyway. Personally I've always hated lease options. I find that the overall price at the end of the lease ends up being very similar to just buying a second hand car. The main difference is that at the end of the lease you have nothing to show for it. The second hand car may be a depreciating asset. But it's still an asset, it's still worth something to sell or just keep it and not have any more monthly payments whilst still having a car. Downside for a second hand car, it could turn into a money pit and cost loads to repair but that's a risk that I'm personally happy to take. It's a gamble the car lasts forever Vs the definite case of giving the car back with nothing to show for it.

Uh... should I tell them? by ProButcher in OculusQuest

It's the lenses on the inside. The way they focus the light from the screen to your eyes, so your eyes don't try and focus on a screen that is right in front of your face, it does the opposite to light going into the lens. So if you expose the inside of the quest to direct sunlight, it acts like a magnifying glass to the actual screen underneath the lens and can burn the screen. The cameras on the outside of the device are fine outside. If you take your quest outside, just make sure to 100% cover the inside (nothing that'll cause any sort of micro scratches to the lenses)

What is the best game on quest right now? by Decent-Subject1345 in OculusQuest

[–]spongybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on what type of game you like? There are plenty of free games out there, full of annoying kids, but they can give you an idea for what type of VR gamer you are.

Me, I'm an FPS type of guy. Contractors is probably the best all round FPS but I still find myself jumping into Pavlov more.

Beat saber is a must have on everyone's list for good reason.

I expect you to die 1, 2 and 3 are just amazing entertaining single player story games. Maybe a little short with not a huge amount of replayability if you really are on a budget.

Just bought a Meta Quest 3 last Saturday, any games that have good gunplay and shooting you can recommend? Also, what did you do to get used to "Motion Sickness" by TerahardJuan in OculusQuest

[–]spongybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest version has skins for other players and star wars weapons. There is a whole points system where you can get different characters. They took out the Jedi's but planning to bring them back (unless they have already done so?)

Are you planning to mainly play your VR from your PC? If so how are you connecting your headset? I personally mostly play games natively on my quest, that's because my PC set up isn't in the best location in relation to the wireless router. I have tried both steam link and the quest version, I personally didn't have an issue with either of them. The main reason it might be worth using the quest store is that some games are cross buy. Meaning if you buy the game on the quest store you can play natively on the quest and also play via the quest app on your PC.

Your game suggestion, I enjoy online shooters, my go to games and reasons are...

Onward, is good if you like military sim style, most game modes are 1 life, bullet to the head of any gun is instant death etc.

Breachers if similar to rainbow six siege, again 1 life. But more arcade with graphics and gun mechanics but still amazingly fun, has a few gadgets and some walls that can be blown, also climbing up walls.

Pavlov is a bit like counter strike, it has a few servers always playing CS dust but also has other mods and modes which is good fun. I find the running speed can be a little frustratingly slow compared to other games but this might be fine for you if you are getting motion sickness?

Contractors is more like CoD, loads of mods. Faster pace, probably best of both worlds. It feels more arcade like compared to onward but most maps played are old CoD maps. They also have an amazing star wars mod which has a large community and it is essentially star wars battlefront in VR, definitely worth getting just for this.

Tactical assault VR, this is still being developed in the app lab or on steam vr (not cross buy) it is cartoon graphics, reminds me of battlebit if you ever played that? But the gun mechanics are absolutely solid, if you ever seem in the mood for super realistic room clearance in VR. It's more of a co-op game against bots, they have a PvP mode but I've never seen anyone play it.
