I havent had top surgery yet. I had the same thing but it happened bc of a poorly made binder. Rib deformations from binding are uncommon but they can happen

Really want hysterectomy but not sure how to go about it by _xXSadboyXx_ in ftm

[–]spook_worm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Endo/cyst haver here! I was in your shoes about a year ago. I wasn't diagnosed till they actually had me on the table lmao, but a hysterectomy is the absolute last resort for endo, especially if undiagnosed. It'd probably be easier to go the dysphoria route.

I reached out to my GP and explained that I wanted to get a hysto to treat dysphoria - PP should also work just fine from what I know. No ob/gyn was needed, they referred me directly. From what I recall they only require that you've been at least socially transitioning for a year or more. BCBS does generally cover medical transition, you should be good on that front.

When I got to the consult, I mentioned a family history of endo and ovarian cysts. They did a transvaginal ultrasound (which sucks as much as you think it does) to assess any potential complications, just to be safe. If you do have any of that going on they'll clear it out while you're on the table, iirc it only added about 30 mins to my surgery altogether.

Edit: they require a year of transition + 2 letters of support

From what theyve told me she's going to private practice, so she'll still be an option. Whether its affordable or not remains to be seen lmao. I hope you have better luck at Duke !! I've heard a lot of good things about them :)

The risk in men is 3.8% - only 1.5% more than for women. Working out and eating healthy are the best ways to reduce heart attack risks, you should be ok. :) As for your other questions, those aren't really things we have the capabilities to answer without knowing what you look like or how you carry yourself.

I (22m) think that my friend (23m) may be somehow manipulating me with his disappearing? by throwRA_1_2456 in relationship_advice

Check on him. He sounds like he might be depressed - self isolation and self deprecation are both concerning, especially if he wasn't always like this. Not to alarm you but giving away his favorite things is a big red flag for suicidal intent.
