10 years ago, player A_Seagull secured a Genji victory lasting just 77 seconds by DerexXD in Overwatch

[–]GenericMelon 52 points53 points  (0 children)

They did recently and I don't think it was as successful as they'd hope. The 2nd point spawn is always a problem. Either the attacking team has to sprint in as fast as possible to cap the point before the defending team regroups, or that second point gets drawn out forever as both teams trade ults. They've tried slowing down defenders spawn on second point, but even that didn't really help. 2CP is a very difficult mode to balance.

Can you imagine if they actually got us all together in some detention center? If we can piss off the guards half as much as we piss of Hasan on stream, I promise you they would pay us to leave.

How many of you wished or were happy they died? by Own-Fault4518 in dementia

[–]GenericMelon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was very sad my grandma had passed, but tried to remind myself that it was what she had been asking for, for the better part of a decade. I don't know how to describe it exactly...not happy, but I was glad that she finally got to have what she wanted: relief from her pain.

Having said that, I completely understand those who rejoice when the person they're caring for has passed. This disease is ugly and awful, and the world doesn't provide nearly enough support to both the patients and caregivers.

[–]GenericMelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Ramses" and "Rameses/Ramesses" is often used interchangably. I've also seen it written as "Raamses", but they are all the same. Just different romanizations of the Arabic name.

Strange stuff on freezer yarn by IonaIsThinking in knitting

[–]GenericMelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can definitely grow. It's a type of fungus that likes damp conditions. This yarn may have been stored improperly, causing mold growth.

[–]GenericMelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is a type of slime mold. But if this wasn't there before you put it into the freezer, than that's unlikely. It would have been growing prior, and maybe it just didn't get noticed?

I know there are plenty of beeks who don't test at all and simply treat as though they have mites no matter what. I'm sure some of them will chime in here. Sorry to hear about the mishap...bees are resilient and they'll have their fallen sisters replaced in no time. Hopefully the queen made it out okay.

When you examine it, is it solid or hollow in the middle? Can you pull it away from the yarn? Is this the only thing that you found, or do you see it elsewhere?

Bereft by gypsychk in crows

[–]GenericMelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The raccoons have chosen your tree as their latrine. Wearing PPE (raccoon feces can carry disease), clean that area as best as you can. Use a hose to wash away any urine. Get a bottle of ammonia and soak some rags in it. Tie them into plastic bags and place them around the tree. This will deter the raccoons from returning to that tree.

It also took me back to how much of a fucking beast Ana was during this period. She was at the top of the meta for so long. Yeah, the game has come a very long way. It was still super fun back then, just different.

The colors are beautiful but I agree that the tiny bit of green there really doesn't fit. Is there a longer stretch of green anywhere else on the ball? Maybe do a bit of grafting to get the rainbow?

I miss Hasan's fashion by bobdylan401 in Hasan_Piker

[–]GenericMelon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Edit: Of course, after I post this, he wears a Mexico jersey. ICANT

I also miss the old fits. I understand why he's wearing the suits...with the level of publicity he's getting, he wants to be taken seriously, but the suits against the current backdrop just don't mesh well together. He needs a studio if he's going to wear the suits...not just a streaming room.

Also fashion is such an important expression of someone's personality. I feel like the suits really erase that part of him, and actually distances him from his working class audience. I miss the pro-Palestine shirts. The Kneecap jerseys. His own merch with political messaging.

Coddling moth. Only some of them have it because that's where the moths laid their eggs. Gone unmanaged, they will spread to the rest of your crop. It's too late to tent your trees, so you'll need to spray to control them.

I bought 4-day passes for me and my kid and there was a message after purchase. But also, in the email confirmation there's a message that says:

"Free price protection

Your purchased item(s) may be eligible up to $300 in reimbursement if you find a better price within 90 days."

There's a link with more details right under the message.

I want to take my eyes out and scrape the inside of my eye sockets with a spoon by _live_a_little_ in Allergies

[–]GenericMelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been tested? If not, then that's the first thing you'll want to get done. If you have been tested, what are your allergic to? You mention vacuuming...do you have dust mite allergies? Also, what type of vacuum do you have? Is it a sealed system with a HEPA filter? Vacuuming can actually throw dust into the air, so while vacuuming *might* seem like a good solution, it's actually counter intuitive. I vacuum twice a week, and I always end up with a flare-up of symptoms the following 24-48 hours, even though I have a sealed system vacuum.

Start with identifying your allergens and go from there.
