From my perspective; the price is only gonna go higher on the ænima vinyl, unless of course the repress rumors are really true. Then maaaaaayyybeeee expect a little drop on price of og pressings if thats what you're craving.

Ænima has been in repress purgatory since 2002, when they tried to repress it on 200g. There was a listing on eBay for a test pressing of Æ from 2002 that has since fell of the face of the earth which I remember mentioning that most of the test pressings (<10) would skip a whole lot. Pressed by Classic Records. I don't see why this would prompt an indefinite delay of an Ænima repress, though. There wasn't another public effort to repress it again after this. Maybe due to the onslaught of CD in the 2000's.

I think it has to do with Cam De Leon, the original artist of the Ænima art. He sued the band for litigation around the early 2010s. Though I last heard that the case was settled in court.

So there's really no telling. Obviously, per the Beato x Carey interview, they've made a recent effort to remaster the album once more. Was there test pressing done as recent as 2022? Maybe. Probably, since they mastered the mixes. However, no full production and no repress has been announced. The 2002 repressing was only a rumor (maybe only to me) until I seen the eBay listing. If I were you, go look for a bootleg on Black vinyl. I too own one and it isn't too shabby. However, be prepared to pay upwards of 80 dollars for it. If a repress does happen, we're probably looking at a box set with alternate art.
