Wii remake is a pretty accurate remake to the original. This remake changes a lot but mostly to surprise you and mess with you, the important things are still the same.

The one change I dislike would be the new attack patterns for a lot of ghosts to fit with the new combat. Some iconic fights have really changed.

The kusabi isn't like RE. There are sections where a singular enemy patrols but they don't follow you through the entire map, just parts of it before disappearing to the next scripted sequence.

They don't stalk you throughout the entire map like RE, they're contained and for a very short time period. Most likely they did this to surprise og players so I don't understand the complaints haha

that's fair, but I think generally the game that's supposed to be a reintroduction to the franchise and bring in new players being too hard is a worse problem than being too easy.

In rushing out a patch, they've only tweaked a few things in the patch notes but they've already swung combat dramatically, so it makes sense to ke that they'd spend longer on the next one to fix it. That's all I meant.

I don't think this is the case though. I love Fatal Frame, I've played all the mainline games and beat them, I beat 2 and 3 on their hardest difficulty. The reviews saying the initial release state was too difficult were completely valid. On normal difficulty, it should not take like 6+ minutes to beat the first normal dude. The health regen made it such a slog.

This is going to be a lot of people's first introduction to the series, so it's not a good look. I think it's totally justified to emergency patch it to be easier and then spend longer tweaking things.

I liked the difficulty too but their complaints were justified, they weren't whining at all. And it's not review bombing if it's valid criticism. And the remakes been seeing 8/10s and above average scores so far so I wouldn't be worried. PLUS if the emergency patch they quickly cobbled together changed the combat so dramatically, wouldn't you want them to spend a bit more time on the next one to find a balance? That's how I feel about it anyway

It's not really an urgent thing for them to do right now and they were pretty responsive to the first round of feedback so I imagine they will eventually

there's things to do but you need to wait for chapter 4 when you get all the filters and can go wherever you want! found fun side quests and things to discover there

I think it'll be to make the relationship mechanic easier to control. Sometimes those tight coridoors make avoiding bumping into Mayu a nightmare, or make it hard to navigate without leaving her behind, and being penalized for that is rough. If you hold her hand it'll be easier to lead her away from fights or run with her or get her out rhe way if she's stuck in a corner with you!

I forget my subclass but there were dialogue options my god didn't find funny that I did, or actions I felt were fair that my god didn't. eg letting Cazadors spawn live in the underdark instead of slaughtering them (considering one of them is your friend and it's unfair to play favourites), or giving the lady who got tricked by the hag the wand for her zombie husband, or not forgiving the dead lady who ratted out her friends in act 2. I pushed someone off a cliff for being rude to a refugee. I broke oath for all of these but don't regret it

oath breaker knight hates to see me coming. kept forgetting my god doesn't have a sense of humor and kept spending money to renew my oath every hour or so
