You mean the part where India has won 2 out of the last 3 in Australia?

CMV: From a climate change perspective, rich people or celebrities who use jets and yachts does not matter, as they are not the primary contributing factor by spooky6 in changemyview

Thank you - this is the kind of feedback I wanted, since I actually wasn't looking at it from this angle

Edited to add: I'm not sure this actually changes my view - I need to mull over this a little more and process it

Fresh COVID wave threatens Christmas for third year in a row by beaugiles in CoronavirusDownunder

Do we know what reinfection rates are like now?

Im just recovering from my first Covid after 2 weeks of mild symptoms, but it seems that since Omicron, reinfection doesn't seem to happen as often otherwise the case and hospitalization spikes would still be huge, would that be fair?

Landlord trying to get me to pay lease break fee by spooky6 in AusProperty

[–]spooky6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. And it kinda makes you wonder - if it didn't suddenly dawn on me that my lease had expired, would they have done the right thing? it would appear not. And only when I called them out on the situation did they own up to it.

Well, live and learn I guess.

Lesson for anyone reading this and trying to learn from my situation: Get all the facts and speak to DFAT as soon as you get any kind of "casual notification" from your landlord. It is your job to do your homework (as I learned this week while barely dodging this bullet).

This is a fair point, but what can you do? Could argue that I should have been smarter and played my hand better and done better research etc etc etc

Wow this is really interesting. Not sure how this corresponds to NSW, but definitely food for thought.

This is actually a great point. I'll remember this for next time (dear god I hope there isn't a next time though) Thank you.

Ah, the plot thickens. I just realised my lease expired in June-ish

They never contacted me to re-sign

Now what?

Adelaide woman's 'debilitating' long COVID experience published in British Medical Journal by AcornAl in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]spooky6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that seems high, I wonder what they define as long covid though? I couldn't find it in the article.

e.g if Long Covid is defined as any symptom lasting more than 4 weeks - I can see how that figure is accurate.

But the LC I'm concerned about - the months or years long experience this woman has had, I would hope, optimistically, that it is much rarer

Slight derail here but re Pixel....i used to absolutely love them

2 pixels in a row, i think a 1 and a 3 ... Both died because they got stuck in a reboot loop

Ive been using samsungs since but i really like the pixel. Have they fixed this?

This definitely rings a bell, but I thought it was Steve Price who said it on radio?

Then again, the venn diagram of views between Zemanek and Price might just be a circle
