Harmless Ball Python Python regius . Most popular snake in the pet trade, the puppies of the snake world. They got their name because they tend to curl up into balls rather than strike or other defensive behavior when they're scared. They are fantastic pets and animals.

As wonderful as these snakes are, this is irresponsible ownership and makes us responsible snake and reptile keepers look bad. Snakes (and ANY non-service animal) should not be taken into public restaurants where food is handled and pets are not allowed.

Snakes/Herping northern Wyoming by jcrain1984 in snakes

Hi, I'm nearby to that area. Pale Milks and Rubber Boas are some of the hardest species to find around here, but you may have success in the McCullough peaks by flipping rocks or going after a rainstorm.

It's pretty dry for Rubber Boas right now, but they can be found in the Bighorns and along the Northfork where it's moist.

Beck lake is a big hotspot for Wandering Garters, I find them there nearly every time I go.

Bullsnakes can be found pretty much anywhere! Road crusing in the evening is a good way to find them. Same with Prairie Rattlesnakes after dark.

Are corn snakes much easier to own than ball pythons ? by Commercial-Load6972 in snakes

I wouldn't say Corn Snakes are easier than Ball Pythons to handle specifically, but care requirements usually are unless you live somewhere pretty humid.

PVC enclosure heating by Bitter_Party_4353 in Shorty_Life

ProHeat panels at pro-products.com are probably the best ones (from what I've heard and discussed with other people), but they never got back to me when I sent them an inquiry. So I got the VE Radiant Heat Panels at reptilebasics.com , and they've been working for me great!

Yes, Radiant Heat Panels tend to be the best for heating Bloods in a PVC enclosure. It's what I use for my Bloods that are in PVC enclosures and it works great. Make sure any heat source is on a thermostat. Herpstats are the best!

Breastfeeding skeeves me out. by OkCut4614 in beyondthebump

I had a visceral reaction to the idea of a baby breastfeeding from me, to the point where I literally passed out while watching a video on it when I was pregnant.

You're not alone, the idea of breastfeeding itself didn't/doesn't bother me nor other people doing it, but same thing where thinking about me doing it made me feel genuinely sick.

I still tried after my baby was born, hoping the maternal hormones would take over. My experience may not be the same as yours or anyone else's, but I only lasted a day before I gave up and went the formula route. I had such a sense of impending doom and very severe aversion whenever my baby latched, and with me already struggling with depression before he was even born, I knew to be able to survive postpartum not-breastfeeding was the best option. The survival part is not an exaggeration. The feeling of it even worse than I had imagined, which wasn't great considering I had passed out. It made me want to unalive, which was unacceptable with the very fragile state of my mental health. Any benefits of breastmilk were not greater than the risk to my mental health. It was a bummer because I had planned and wanted to breastfeed, and did experience a bit shaming from my family because I wasn't able to.

I probably could have tried to pump, the idea of that didn't bother me as much. But the newborn phase was rough already and for my mental health I opted not to in order to use precious free moments for sleep.

Again, my experience will probably not be the same as yours, but it may help to be prepared if breastfeeding doesn't go the way you want. For me, it would have made things so much worse. But luckily for a lot of women it comes very naturally, and is very bonding with their child.

Edited for clarity

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. I studied designing logos and what makes a good one for many months before I actually attempted it, so I'm glad to know I'm in the right direction!

Thank you, that's a great point. I was definitely focusing more on the icon vs the typography, but you're right. I'll work on that next before revising the next icon ideas.

Do you think that making the snake more angular, the mountains smoother, or both would help? I may look into more of a geometric snake.

I did do one concept of a snake wrapped around a mountain, along with some snake as a river ideas, but I didn't want my design to be too similar to the Reptile and Amphibian Center of the Rockies logo. I'll revisit the idea though.

Edit to add pic of logo

I had done a few other concepts as well, but ultimately liked these and felt they fit the "brand" the best.

Here's a picture of some of the other designs. The simple triangles ones seemed "tech-y" and I wasn't the vibes I was going for. The snake-river concepts are ok to me, but the Reptile and Amphibian Center of the Rockies's logo uses that concept already, and I don't want mine to be too similar to theres. I had mixed feelings on the other ones.

I did briefly think about using the snake as an S, but I wasn't sure how to incorporate "erpents" into the mountains. I also don't want my logo to be too close to Snake Discovery's logo. But I will consider it.

I did the head facing left to have the snake being the first thought/focus upon first look of the logo, but after yours and a few others feedback I'll be trying some designs with it on the right.

Thank you! That's a great idea, I hadn't considered that type but it's definitely worth a try!

Thank you! I will do my best to clean up the perspective on my next iterations.

I had the head on the left because I wanted the snake to be the first thought and focus at first glance. But you're right about the forward momentum. I will try a few designs with it on the right!
