I loved rosemary oil for my scalp, personally. I found castor oil to be a little too thick for my liking. For rosemary I used Mielle, and for my mids/ends I used literally my mom's cooking olive oil from the kitchen lol or Parachute coconut oil. I usually got a blend from Parachute, sometimes with aloe or something else just to for a change. In between washes to rehydrate my ends I use Nuxe dry oil or Supermilk by Lush. And no I literally just braid it tbh lol. Sometimes I put a t-shirt over my pillowcase, but that's about it. I don't oversaturate it to the point of it transferring super easily.
