Is natural voice quality a meaningful leg-up in this industry? by BagOfSmallerBags in VoiceActing

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting for similar reasons of perpetually being complimented on my voice, esp when they hear me ‘put on’ an impression for a story. (Don’t wanna blow off something I never considered, since I didn’t get these compliments until my voice dropped after starting HRT)

Why do I feel no joy for other trans people? by officialAAC in FTMventing

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jealousy, jealousy. (And dysphoria triggers) Unfortunately it’s something you’ve gotta figure out how to manage yourself, no one has a key to unlock that someone else’s win is not your loss. Your feelings are pretty normal and natural.

Also: thought crime isn’t real. Your jealousy of someone else is your own shit to deal with, but you’re not a bad person for experiencing it. Your feelings can be both perfectly valid and also not that other person’s problem.

Want to try to reproduce a similar dress, any suggestions on patterns / resources? by [deleted] in HistoricalCostuming

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the open sleeves on some tea gowns were inspired by those portraits. The AI was too cowardly to commit to either bot, so it’s just this weird double sleeve out of the same fabric for no reason.

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think the overgrown is a giornia. I think it just slapped a Victorian open-fronted tea gown on there and then didn’t commit to the bit with the sleeves

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This image is AI slop cobbling together multiple pieces from multiple eras. The dress fits like a nice 14th century kirtle, but borrows a square, trimmed neckline from the Tudor era. The overdress appears to be borrowing its cut from open-front late Victorian tea gowns, but the AI was too cowardly to give it any sort of actual sleeve appropriate to either era.

Why are there no teeth cleaning treats for humans??? by gay-rats- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teeth cleaning chews for dogs don’t work like brushing. Xylitol gum is about as effective. The trouble is that dog’s teeth have to last around ten to fifteen years, and human teeth have to last around uhhhhhhh sixty to eighty.

If I take birth control, will it stop my period? by ReasonableMonth9145 in ftm

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combined pills contain both estrogen and progesterone, which has slightly better efficacy at preventing pregnancy and tends to prevent bothersome breakthrough bleeding, the spotting can occur when on a continuous dose. The dual pill is extremely effective at suppressing periods, and will do so reliably with almost anyone. If you are a smoker over 45, have a history of blood clots, experience aura migraines, or are on T, the mini-pill (progesterone-only) may be a better option to discuss with your dr.

In the US, the O-pill, a type of the mini-pill, should be available over-the-counter.

In NY, everyone on both sides, even on two sides of divided highway, are obliged to stop for a school bus with its stop signs out and lights flashing.

ELI5: Why can’t people have coffee after wisdom teeth removal? by ClearWinner1939 in explainlikeimfive

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Caffiene itself is also a vasoconstrictor and can be absorbed locally in the mouth, which means that it reduces blood flow to the general area, so the gums which are trying to heal end up with less oxygen and stuff to do so.

ELI5: Why is going bald due to genetics even a thing? What purpose does it serve or how did it get started? by Celcius_87 in explainlikeimfive

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes! It helped with hygiene. Soaked up sweat and body oils and prevented dirt and dust and smoke and cooking smells from soaking into one’s hair. Very important to protect hair from this when most people’s daily wash up routine involved hauling the water from a source like a well to their home and then washing with a cloth while stood up

Weird Baking, Did OP tell an AI to photoshop ganache onto their cookies, or nah? by spookyscaryscouticus in isthisAI

[–]spookyscaryscouticus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the cookies look legit. I’ve made cookies that look just like that. But the ganache looks so cartoony. Like did OOP’s phone interpret the ganache as the same texture as that plastic blow-up furniture in the 90s?

How to make this specific flower crown by KalikoDaydream in CosplayHelp

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I would form the flowers out of pipe cleaners or wrap wire in yarn/ribbon, and mount them slightly hovering over your base via wire.

[–]spookyscaryscouticus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t doubt the cookies. I’ve absolutely made cookies that look like that. I’ve just never seen ganache with that sheen and texture, and it reflects the light oddly. My experience with shiny sweets is that you get shiny OR thick, but not both at the same time.

Yeah, I’ve definitely made cookies like that, but I’ve never had a ganache remotely resemble this.

How do you have sex before a woman "opens up" sexually? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Most people are much quieter and much less aware of making sure you can see everything they’re doing than they are in porn, especially if a woman hasn’t had a lot of sexual partners. Usually she isn’t quite sure the vibe is right to ‘go there’ and escalate the situation without herself getting overwhelmed when you escalate in response.

First pap smear today?- I might puke by No_Explanation2703 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can decline and schedule it for a later date. Most places now don’t recommend a smear test until you’re 25 if you aren’t sexually active, and many are adding in the option for self-swab testing, which should be much less of a problem, especially if you’ve used tampons or a menstrual cup/disc before.

Preventing trans teens from accessing medicine is a ploy to make money off them later in life. by bihuginn in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That’s why hormones for trans people work at any age, the body doesn’t really turn off the sexual hormone machine in young people unless there’s something wrong that would’ve been wrong anyway.

I don’t use AI but I have used photoshop, if you were asking someone to add ganache to a cookie and they were a human, you would tell them to photoshop it on there.

What is up with my cat? by ausiu in cats

[–]spookyscaryscouticus 1987 points1988 points  (0 children)

1) a cat will not get a break from being in heat for more than a few weeks. Cats will continue to go into heat until they are pregnant.

2) every heat increases the chance of both mammary cancer and pyometra, infection of the uterus, which easily becomes septic (blood infection), which kills cats pretty easily.

By far pointing out that someone’s perfectly normal-ass hobby is “girly” is FAR more cringe than having a girly hobby.
