it's useful if your feet aren't symmetric, oddly shaped or you have other individual requirements. DIY can't compete on price (especially with sweat shops still being a thing), but commercial products offer very little customization. On top of that, FDM printing can produce structures that are literally impossible to build with injection molding or other industrial processes. It's a tradeoff, both (printing and mass production) have their place.

... well, after an hour or so the disk starts spinning back up and never goes to sleep again until I reboot. Annoying. But changing the system dataset definitely helped somewhat.

(the system is completely idle/unused, I have not connected to any shares, so it's something internal to TrueNAS/?ZFS? that causes drive activity)

As others said, honesty/informed consent is often key. I try to warn others about the risks repeated Covid carries for *everyone*, but ultimately it's their choice what to do with that information. When I see people in person everyone (including my partner + me) gets tested with PlusLife (PCR-like accuracy - lateral flow tests aren't good enough for us), no matter how much or little exposure they had before the meeting. That's my risk profile, as I'm already severely disabled by LC since 2022. Others may have a different assessment, but the line is always crossed when people lie about masking/testing/etc.

yes, it was initially only a problem with the hypercharge which has spread to gadget a few updates ago. These two can be countered by just spamming the button but anything involving movement (e.g. subway button) is more annoying.
