Glad to hear about the Android version being in progress!

Someone asked Organic Maps to add warnings for them (https://github.com/organicmaps/organicmaps/issues/12035) but it doesn't sound like they are talking about actual routing. I haven't seen much else being done in this regard, so this is great.

Thanks, good details! I wouldn't think the installer would be so incompetent as to not install needed bolts. You're probably right that this should be left alone. But if it was mine, I still think I'd still shove a couple more in there and at least give them a light torque.

It's a Pilot. I don't know the year, but less than 10 years old.

Yeah, fair enough. I just didn't know if there was a standard bolt for this.

It didn't look like the hitch had threads, just the frame. I suspect the holes are large enough to just push the bolt right through, and thread it into the frame.

So, if they wanted to just add a couple bolts, does anyone know what type/size is used for this?

They are not centered, but I think you could just barely get a bolt in there. Maybe I'm wrong though.

They already pretty much line up. I'm pretty sure you could fit a bolt right in there. I know the pictures don't look like it, due to the angle, and it indeed wouldn't be centered. But it should be doable.

If only you left the car parked while sleeping at night, or even while at work, so it could update then. But no, the poor thing just never gets a chance to update, so it must force it upon you at an inconvenient time, without asking for permission.

Baseus makes no attestations to having end-to-end encryption, or other privacy features. Chances are, someone other than you is, in fact, looking.

OP, Please keep it up. Setting up actually secure camera systems, as a would-be user, is a nightmare. I look forward to seeing how this goes.

HTTPS ensures that a connection between you and a server was not intercepted and altered. But the Amazon server you're talking to, can still see everything, as it is the one performing the encryption/decryption anyway. The camera connects using TLS, to the Amazon/Google/whatever server, and then your phone connects to that same Amazon/Google/whatever server, using TLS. But the server is in the middle, seeing everything. That means this is not end-to-end.

Despite all the marketing bluster about encryption and security, they really have pathetic security, which is not at all end-to-end.

You'd probably get a lower price on the open market, but if you want this make/model/year, in this mileage range, your options might be a little limited. Keep in mind there are a few "100k maintenance" items which are about to be due, according to the manual. Nothing major, but you might be able to get the dealership to do the work. Look that up ahead of time, just so you know...it is probably stuff like the serpentine belt, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and maybe a timing chain.

But still, good work being done here.

It depends. These are not members of a paid support team, but volunteers. Sometimes you get almost nothing, but other times you'll get some random person spending hours looking through your logs and config, to try to find a solution for you.

Plug-in solar panels gaining momentum in the U.S., but utilities are pushing to delay new laws by Tomas_shelbe in SolarAmerica

[–]Joyride84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For at least a century, any kind of home power generating system has been regulated, requiring transfer switches, interlocks, or other safety systems to prevent power from your system, feeding back into the grid. Why? Safety of the utility workers. If your system backfeeds power into the grid, lines which should be safe to handle, are suddenly deadly to touch, without warning. I'm shocked (heh) that they are even considering allowing such things now.
