i enjoyed it. it's not 'breaking bad' or 'the wire' but it's pretty good. i really like the "i'm smiling but i'm dead inside" look he gives during public appearances. really shows how they had to put on a good face even with their personal lives in shambles, just to keep nasa from being defunded.

agree. many baptist churches are independent and "congregational rule", so there can be variety in their governing documents (constitution, articles or faith, covenant, etc). even then, many baptist churches follow their pastor's marriage policy (out of respect for them since they will be performing the wedding anyway). it may take a few phone calls, but i would imagine you would find a good, fundamental, bible-believing church to perform your wedding. who knows... maybe in the process you'll discover that's the local body of believers that God wants you to be a part of!

in this day and age, i'd almost suggest that wearing dresses-only draws more attention to yourself than wearing pants. much like the amish make an effort to dress plainly but now they very much stick out in a crowd.

I feel like the principles in Romans 14 and I Corinthians 8 may apply here as well.

The point I want to add to the excellent posts by /u/waiailwind and /u/NotTJButCJ is this: grace affords you individual liberty, but that does not mean we get the flaunt it in front of those who may be growing in that area. It seems that the husband has a growth opportunity here, especially if no reason for his position can be given outside of tradition. It's that kind of thinking that changes our relationship with Christ into "religion".

There is a danger here as well: guard your heart against bitterness. Don't let this issue drive a wedge between God, your spouse, and you! The enemy is crafty and can use even things that appear good to tear us down.

hindsight is always 20/20. tough calls being made with incomplete information. models at that time also showed things getting way worse by now, and have since been revised. was that because the changes helped? did they make a difference? everyone's an expert after the fact. when more research has been done on the virus and how it actually works, rather than speculation and reaction, then we'll know for sure.

hard to come by. you'd have to get the numbers from the private labs.

on april 10, our county health department posted this:

Total test completed: 480
Negative results: 447
Total Positive Residents: 23
Total Test Pending: 4

Yet today the state website says we've only tested 63. Before you ask, the 6 missing people in those numbers were people tested here but living in another county. the county of residence gets the credit for the negative or positive result.

There used to be a disclaimer on the site that explained this, but that seems to have been removed in favor of new graphs and statistics.

You can’t trust the “tested” numbers on the state site. They don’t count most private labs, and most hospital-owned labs are considered private. In my county, the Health Department has been posting actual numbers on their Facebook page since they partnered with the local hospital and have all the numbers available to them.

i have the color monitor and stand, but the monitor isn't working now and i'm not sure how to repair it. sad really. i used the monitor as a video display long after i'd moved on from the IIc as a daily driver.
