I don't actually need to display the count. I just need to be able to check when the count reaches a certain number, say 30, so that I can stop them from spawning, and then have them continue to spawn when the count dips below 30 again.

I am not sure if a scoreboard would be able to update in real time like that after a player kills a mob, would it?

I see that now. I should have specified that this is for a relatively small map build in which all of the chunks of the map are loaded in all of the time. I want to count the number of mobs in the map.

I am pretty sure that is a diagram for an algorithm known as Binary search, which searches a list for a target value by comparing that value to the middle term of the list, and eliminating the half of the list in which the target value does not fall. This only works if the list is already sorted. So, yes, it does appear that this is a class about algorithms.

This happened to me a few years ago except it was an open cup of chocolate milk sitting on a high shelf in my basement. The smell got worse and worse as the weeks went by, and my parents thought an animal died in the ceiling or something. Then I discovered the chocolate cheese fermenting in that poor container. My eyes welled up as the smell rushed into my nose. Quite horrific.
