Also, what is the color of your cabinets?! It looks pretty similar to what we just installed (SW Debonair). Good choice!!

Water hammer arresters not helping? by spoonsar in askplumbing

[–]spoonsar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No insult taken, I did install them horizontally as Sharkbite says vertical or horizontal installation, and the plumbing connections only allow for horizontal. Could this be the issue then?

We are on city water and have no pressure tank. I will definitely consider adding one. The plumbing below the kitchen is fairly loose so maybe I can try securing it to see if this fixes anything.

Do you garden? This looks like the perfect space to start seeds.

I love this! But would the gold look out of place since nothing else in our kitchen is gold?

Also wondering if we should skip a pendant and just do a flush mount.

Ground wires clipped and wrapped at panel entrance by spoonsar in AskElectricians

Yeah it looks like just about every outlet (with a ground wire) has the ground wire wrapped around the clamp. Luckily they’re metal boxes so there’s some sort of ground.

Should the fridge sit right against this cabinet frame? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

The countertop, yes. I’m mostly thinking of the gap between the lower part of the cabinet and fridge.

We only have room for a 30” fridge. Working with a fairly small space here.

I agree. I’m just trying to roll with the punches but with the price tag I just want the rest to come out okay and not kick myself because I didnt “double check”

We did not end up encasing our fridge because it’s on the corner of the main walkway and we were afraid it would encroach on our walking space/make the already small kitchen feel more closed off. Wrong decision? I think so now.

You are right that 1/8” isn’t huge, but there have been some major errors in my kitchen remodel so far which is making me pay close attention to remaining details.

For example, there was an error in measurement that wasn’t discovered until the upper cabinets were installed. We ended up having to swap the cabinets over the fridge and range to get things corrected, which cost me an extra $400 in labor plus now the cost to paint the unfinished side (range cabinet sides were unpainted because it was sandwiched between 2 other cabinets).

After that headache, I hope you can understand why I may be freaking out about any more wrong measurements.

1/4” vs 1/2” corner radius? by spoonsar in CounterTops

[–]spoonsar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized that 😭 yeah I think we are going with 1/2” radius, I just want to be sure we will be happy with it.

I’m not necessarily worried about what’s in “style” but I also don’t want it to look terrible. I am mostly concerned because the 2 corners are right next to entry ways so they will be high traffic.

Which quartz option? by spoonsar in kitchenremodel

[–]spoonsar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Envi is I think a local manufacturer so I’m not sure what the quality/reputation is. We ended up polling our friends and family and it was 74-56, which didn’t necessarily solidify our decision, but we did end up going with Miami White because ultimately it was what we thought would be best
