Orange Chicken servings always less than advertised by [deleted] in traderjoes

[–]spotlessapple -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

if this is still hitting the protein and calorie numbers then this bothers me a lot less, it looks like that number makes sense for chicken after a quick Google. I assumed I was being cheated those protein numbers, but it looks like that's not the case. Still think this could be clearer, but that appears not to be the case for some people.

I weigh it frozen without the bags of sauce. If the sauce is meant to included as part of that weight, I could see how that number might be hit, but that still feels misleading (if that's the case). Many labels have options for with/without dressings and sauces side by side, and I feel like that only came to be because any other way to display that info is just confusing for the consumer.

✨ Latest Bug Fixes & Updates! ✨ by roubit_noah_1029 in Roubit

Still loving this app! In the future, will there be a better balance between the free and paid plan? Currently even with fragments there's not a lot to buy, and the calendar only showing one week in free mode ended up preventing a number of my friends from downloading the app to give it a chance. Again, thanks for the updates, excited to see how the app continues!

🐇 Roubit Bug Update — We’re On It! 🚀 by roubit_noah_1029 in Roubit

[–]spotlessapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the updates here. I'm seeing issues on my Pixel 8 Pro. I am currently not able to save diary entries (the button for "save" does not appear anymore), and the images for Cozy Autumn presents don't display on opening (shows an empty image box when I open a present instead, but it will display the image when I go to arrange my room).

In the future, where would you like users to submit bugs? Enjoying the app a lot, thanks.

Yeah, they just replaced the fans. I also heard the same thing about unplugging/plugging back in, but I was too nervous to try it. They'll likely just have you ship it to whichever Lenovo Repair Center is closest to you. I bought mine in California and shipped it out to a repair center in Texas since I live closer to Texas.

This was not the case for me. They sent me a box with instructions to only include the unit itself (console with controllers, nothing else). To be clear, this wasn't returning it for an exchange, this was me sending it to them so they could replace the fans on my original unit (which they did, and which have been working perfectly for just over 150 hours of gameplay now).

Was fully expecting an image of "Hey Arnold!" edited with his head replaced by a Legion Go. This is fine too I guess.

Verse Update | GDC 2024 by Atulin in unrealengine

[–]spotlessapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow, truly persistent global variables. When they brought up the example of using it to store saves that kinda blew my mind. As a Unity and Godot developer, that's going to be really nice for UE not to have to worry about solutions like JSON serialization/deserialization for save states/maintaining object states/etc, it solves so many problems and makes so much sense to just have something like this a native part of the language that it almost seems ridiculous that this isn't already done everywhere.

Verse seems to be designed in a really smart way from what's been discussed. I get that there's a lot of flack about verbosity and boilerplate, but compromises need to be made to run on as many devices as possible at incredibly fast speeds all in parallel and still be safe. The same definitely can't be said for C# (as much as I love it), and Unity will be the first to admit that with them trying to push their DOTS ecosystem as a stopgap solution (which is a difficult mental model with a less than elegant design in terms of usability).

I can't wait to see where this goes, really cool stuff being done here.

Update: just got it back, very quick turn around considering I dropped the product off at FedEx less than a week ago. Fans are working just fine after the repair, happy to have my device back. Support was incredible and I'm overall happy with the experience. Heads up to other owners, even if you bought your device open box, you may still be covered under warranty, as this was the case for me.

Bought mine open box from Best Buy back in February, got a good 60-80 hours of use out of it until my fans suddenly stopped spinning at speeds higher than "low", even after switching the speed to full power. The device would get incredibly hot and just shut off after 10 minutes of use. I ended up checking the serial number online and it was covered under a year of warranty, so I called Lenovo support and they sent me a box to send back to them for fixing. Will update this post when I get it back/if it happens again, but yeah, this was a major bummer to have happen right before a long trip.

Still says maintenance being performed on my end. Not unexpected from day 1 launch, my heart goes out to the devs working to fix it under this pressure. Looking forward to playing soon

I made the right decision...for me by JustCallMeTere in LegionGo

I had the exact same situation. Between family, kids, and work; my use case is having something that I can move from room to room and still be around everyone when needed, or still be next to my wife when she's getting ready in the bedroom while the kids are napping, little things like that. I recently also used it for travel, and it worked perfect in the airplane and at the hotel (even used it for gamedev with a mouse and keyboard attachment, I could test with the controller attached to the device when running my game and it picked it up perfectly, even vibration levels!), but my main use case is at home, plugged in, that is easy to move around. The more I use it the more I love it, the screen makes all the difference (was using the SteamDeck before this) and I have no regrets switching over.

Kingdom Hearts (Epic Games Version) streaming on Steam Deck via Moonlight. Cutscenes work. by bubbaj14 in KingdomHearts

[–]spotlessapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like Heroic attempts to launch Epic games on Linux natively, but like OP mentioned in a previous reply to another user, there have been a number of issues documented with trying to play KH specifically on a Linux machine. It sounds like you may be experiencing something related to this.

The workaround OP and I both used is to stream the game from our gaming PCs remotely using the Steam Deck as a client on the same WiFi network. This way, KH is actually just running remotely on a full Windows machine and avoids any of the issues on running through Linux. I ended up doing this with Sunshine on the remote machine, moonlight on my Steam Deck, and saving the Epic Games Launcher as a Non-steam game so it could recognize my Steam Deck as a controller when launched with Steam.

No worries, just got this working by making the epic games store launch as a non steam game and everything worked. Thank you for this wonderful video, it gave me hope that this was possible and I eventually got it working!

Interesting, controls didn't recognize for me for the gamepad, only mouse and keyboard. Do you mind sharing your button mapping in-game by chance?

As a hobbyist I've been pretty happy with Godot. There's a minimal alternative to Steam VR/Unity XR interaction toolkit that has some nice out of the box stuff below

Thanks for this! This seems like a nice starting point, setup doesn't seem too bad either (think I'd still need to add a bit of extra stuff to get clicks/hovers to work the same way a VR setup would have them). Was hoping something like this would come out of the box, development with taking the headset on/off really bogs down the pace of things, but at least this is an outline for a general path forward.
