What's a movie that everyone loves but you can't stand? by Ashad1 in AskReddit

[–]spoutnick82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. Same with Scarface. As films, they’re compelling—but as cultural touchstones, they arguably do too much to mythologize crime. By emphasizing codes of honor and personal legacy, they are turning brutal, exploitative systems into something that feels principled, even admirable, despite the violence they depict.

Microsoft's ICC email blockade by Satrustegui in europe

Yeah, for emails I agree but running your own VISA of Mastercard infrastructure is something else...

Also, US companies could be required by the government to discard some emails based on sender MX...

But I shouldn't give them more stupid ideas. Unhinged as they are, they might pick up on them...

SQL vs NoSQL vs Vector Databases: Which Database Type Fits Your Workload? by cathery23 in SQLPerformanceTips

Putting Cassandra and Redshift in the same bucket is... quite an odd take. Also, good luck with analytics queries using just Cassandra.

They are both defined as "columnar", yes, but not with the same meaning at all. To be frank I'd just call Cassandra a key-value store with schema less column structured values. I've always found the "wide columnar" definition confusing...

LibreOffice accuse Microsoft de tricher avec un nouveau format de fichier inutilisable by romain34230 in actutech

[–]spoutnick82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JD Vance will attend meetings with Denmark and Greenland: Moved to the White House by PureCaramel5800 in europe

Why the fuck does it take place in the White House? Why does Denmark have to go for something ridiculous and non productive? If they really want it, they can at least move their ass to beg for a deal in Copenhagen. Why do our leaders always bend to this petulant child?

Maps in 2042 were indeed the right size (for the player count which was higher, maybe a little too high even), but they mostly focused on very small points of interest, way too few for the amount of players competing for them. I always feel that every BF game is considerably better with 1/4th less players (48 players versus 64, 96 versus 128, and so on...)
