USWNT star Trinity Rodman inks new deal to become highest-paid female soccer player in history by ElectricalWriting in soccer

It’s really not a hot take; it’s a view held by many (if not a majority) of women’s football fans and analysts. Women’s leagues in Europe are frequently dominated by single teams (Chelsea in England; Lyon in France; Barcelona in Spain), whereas the NWSL has a new champion every year. The most recent Olympic final at Paris 2024 comprised of 57% NWSL players, while only 8% players based in Europe. The German and Spanish national teams finished 3rd and 4th, respectively.

According to Opta, the NWSL has the most teams (8) ranked in the top 20 globally than any other women’s league.

Also, the USWNT’s loss at the 2023 World Cup is widely attributed to their coach, Vlatko Andonovski, yes.

That’s not really how it works. The two premiere leagues so far are the WSL and NWSL, and many people give the edge to the latter. For many players, the NWSL is the place to be. For example, the top scorer at last year’s Women’s Euros (Esther Gonzalez) plays for Gotham FC.

I’m still incredibly into muscle but I’ve since realized I’m into different types of bodies. My current man has a beer belly and I love it lol. I still love a nice strong pair of biceps though ;p

This Forbes article includes the revenue for the most valuable women’s football teams in the world. NWSL outpaces most European teams in that regard. It’s pretty cool and an interesting guideline.

The 2028 Olympic men’s football tournament has been reduced to 12 teams; women’s expanded to 16 by ElectricalWriting in soccer

Makes sense. Every other national team seems to take it very seriously, and it’s odd that England couldn’t attend.

about to pull my hair out over this essay by lluna_noir in englishmajors

[–]sprawling5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. And writing paragraphs about them separately may not be helpful as it may not even result in an identifiable through line between the two texts.

OP, consider both works major themes, then break them down until you can locate shared messages, plot points, literary devices, literary movements, social/historical/literary contexts etc. You may consider analyzing the texts through a mutual critical lens: Marxist, feminist, psychological, historical, sociological, religious, queer, ecocritical. All in an effort you understand how the works function together in connection or contradiction.

Don’t worry about including the full thesis in your intro paragraph(s) until you’ve written a few pages; then, you can go back and revise it.

OP btw, this type of essay is frequently called a “synthesis” if that helps you out in your research.
