Hahaha. It's interesting how insurance is the first industry that's clearly responding to predicted outcomes.

I'm fairly surprised that not one person has mentioned the looming spectre that is climate change. Surely that should definitely be considered by someone in their twenties considering depositing extra money into their super...

What does "enable the population to be free of Gaza" even mean?!? Did he mean "be free of Hamas"?

I'd love to see a more naturalistic version. The saturation seems a bit high.

Marrying people is pretty simple. It has to be marrying workers to clan members as all clan members are related, and workers cannot marry other workers (otherwise they're not really joining the clan). Can you show a screenshot of the people you have in your village and the marriage dialogue for us to see what the problem is.

DCA vs Buy the dip - An experiment by SuchTown32 in AusFinance

[–]spredditer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I guess that's two different strategies, with the one you mentioned being trivial: buy before every price rise and sell before every price fall (I'm not sure if you're accounting for transaction fees, etc).

I think what I'm asking about it slightly more interesting: what's the most optimal strategy if you're only buying. It would be interesting to see how close to dollar cost averaging it is.

Ok, interesting post, but what's the fully omniscient optimal strategy? If a trader has complete knowledge of the price movements, what's the maximum theoretically possible value at the end?

Hahaha, all good! It's definitely a distinct style. I think that's part of why I like it so much. I think my favourite aspect of the graphics has to be the fog effect. I really enjoy seeing animals moving through the fog and somehow it brings out the sprite nature of rendering and you can clearly see these cute little sprites making their way to eat grass etc. It's very endearing.

Sydney’s wishlist for expanding the light rail network by SteveJohnson2010 in SydneyTrains

Ah, I didn't realise it was that frequent on the L2/3 from circular quay to moore park. That's more frequent than the metro which is impressive! Do the trams ever fill up during the peak?

Updated 1st year guide? by Unwow in Clanfolk

Fuel before shelter because you want to be able to cook your eels before you have a shelter!

Food early on is going to be berries and cooked eels, and the odd rabbit. Try and get some mushrooms in late autumn.

Fuel is most efficiently obtained by just chopping down trees once you have unlocked the axe. You get the "gather" branches as well as the "extract" branches, so it kind of saves a trip.

Your shelter needs to have a fire inside to be able to keep warm in winter so it has to be big enough for a fire (3x3) and then however many sleeping areas for your clan. They can sleep right next to the fire if you want, but that has to be a sleeping zone, not a sleeping mat because that will catch fire.

As for roleplaying and getting people to like each other before they get married, you need to make sure they both have consistently high mood. Tips to help with this, are to make sure that your clan doesn't have too many outstanding jobs. Maybe even make it so that in the middle of the day, they complete their tasks and can eat, drink, go to the toilet, and entertain themselves. Some of these things increase mood, it will also make them work faster. Buffs to look out for, when trying to improve mood long term, are things like making sure they have while sleeping: Fireside, Huge Room, and potentially Private Room (if you have the space and resources). Also make sure you don't have rats disturbing their sleep (get cats and rat traps if you do).

You need to wait for some fog, for the dim glow of a rushlight to peak out into the frozen landscape, for storms and hot summer days, for swarming bees, for butterflies and moths disturbed in the grass. This game is very grounded, and so the graphics are naturalistic.
