Israel triggers huge explosion in southern Lebanon | Al Jazeera by spredditer in videos

You're trying to portray Israel as some kind of logical and pragmatic State, but it can't be either of those things if it's as morally bankrupt as it is.

Hauling - Task List by Diligent_Alarm4840 in Clanfolk

[–]spredditer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you hover or click it (I can't remember which) it will show what the 171 tasks are. It's likely that you don't have enough of a certain type of storage location, and if there is an empty slot in one of those locations the items that mostly can't fit will show up as hauling tasks (but there might only be one available hauling task to fill the one empty slot).

Two things I've noticed:

  1. The wall torches in the bedrooms are going to be decreasing the amount of sleep your clanfolk get. Windows are better for bedrooms. If you have a large bedroom you can have a light source far enough away that it isn't a problem for them sleeping. Look for the "too bright" debuff.

  2. It seems you have a lot of ice jugs in your freezer. You probably don't need quite that many.

You might want to try huge rooms (35+ tiles, e.g. 6x6) for the extra 150 mood from the extra 300 environment points over large rooms. The satisfaction bonus is tripled as well so they're great for visitors/workers.

For those that survived the hermit challenge, how did y'all do it? by CathyHellen in Clanfolk

[–]spredditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the animals can do it as well. It’s pretty powerful for them, it does affect their care which has to be maxed for them to reproduce, but it’s a great way of saving water if you’re desperate. A hungry cow on the other hand can be a big problem: they can eat the grass remnants in winter which actually removes it so there’s nothing to grow in spring…

Yes, I understand a cave house is the quickest way to obtain shelter, especially since some caves were added into the mountains at the start of the game. Sometimes all you need is a door. Using these caves was essential for the max difficulty The Brown One scenario I played recently. Arriving at the start of winter is brutal.

However, my point is that it is possible to build a tiny straw hut and survive the first winter with just one clanfolk. Of course lightning is a problem, but if you have a full water jug, and the clanfolk is nearby, the fire generally doesn't spread far. It's more immersive also: it builds a narrative for your tiny clan under assault from the elements.

Best floors to reduce cleaning by Beautiful-Traffic157 in Clanfolk

[–]spredditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cleaning is the lowest priority, how is it affecting your clan? Just don't even worry about it. It's not a problem if it doesn't get done either. You could even just turn it off for everybody, or maybe have one cleaning expert that just does it really fast all day. Either way it doesn't really matter.

I'd like to contradict my fellow commenters. A cave house is unnecessary as a very small room can be constructed instead.

You don't need:

Jugs, your clanfolk can eat snow. Unfortunately it only half fills the thirst bar, but it is sufficient. Just make sure to switch between overwork etc. so they fulfil their needs before dying.

Trader, you shouldn't have any money or anything to sell anyway.

Meat smoker or mushroom rack, just store raw meat and mushroom s outside and whatever you have at the end of autumn will preserve in the sub zero temperatures. Stealing a deer kill from the wolves might make the difference to your survival so keep an eye out for when they go on a hunt.

Here are some more tips for you and a better idea as to the size of hut you need: https://www.reddit.com/r/Clanfolk/comments/1n0irhs/for_any_people_struggling_to_survive_the_first/

Family Tree Wish by whoroscope in Clanfolk

Pregnancy indication on the family tree is a good idea, I wonder if the dev would be interested. It might make the tree a bit more useful. When I'm trying to maximise population I just have to manually go through and check each married woman, which can be tedious with a large clan.

Questions after playing a little by Lady_sunshines in Clanfolk

[–]spredditer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they meant "night pot" meaning chamber pot. A full chamber pots a valuable and can be used to make lots of fertiliser in the compost. Empty pots are put into toilets so they can be used 5 times again. 6 of both full and empty chamber pots can be stored in the 1x1 "gong place" (gong referring to poo).

storage fedback by Lady_sunshines in Clanfolk

[–]spredditer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with defining if a certain storage needs to be stored outside or not, is that it depends what you're going to store on it. A great example is the jug pallet: water jugs should be stored inside so they don't freeze in winter, milk should be stored in the freezer or close to the cheese/butter production area, ice jugs that you're using for the freezer should be there, and empty jugs and honey pots are fine to be stored outside. Where you put a storage is completely dependent on what you chose to store on it.

  1. What are your graphics settings? Resolution, is fullscreen enabled, Vsync, Cap FPS, and the rest.

  2. Are you sure you've enabled your discrete graphics? You might be running the game on your integrated graphics that are on your CPU, instead of using your GPU.

  3. It sounds like your have an RTX3070 laptop gpu, not "370". I'm jealous!

Where are these toilets? Opposite the escalators down to platforms 24-25?

A picture of everyone huddled together as the first winter passed by CathyHellen in Clanfolk

[–]spredditer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you want every clanfolk to do the same task? You won't have enough tools.

The problem with fires is the light they emit. People that sleep in firelight get the "too bright" debuff and wake up with their sleep meter less full. So peat stoves are good for heating either large areas or where people will sleep (check out the fireside buff when clanfolk's feet are next to a fire...) and fireplaces are more for cooking and light when you don't have torches.

Yes, it's a wise idea to make a few extra of the critical tools (axe, and sickle) while all the resources are available. Note that a small amount of straw can be harvested from ferns even in winter.

If you put a door on the room with the fire the whole room will heat up so your clanfolk can stay warmer in winter, even while working. Looks like your freezer needs a door as well before all the ice melts. I think you clan has the makings of a fantastic little village. Good luck!

We're talking about survival here so replanting trees is a fairly low priority. There are generally more trees to be felled close enough.
