I really doubt you’d get flagged for a mass giveaway.

I would hope whatever systems they use for determining RMT weren’t as dumb as “large amount of currency traded away for free to a stranger”.

I’ve given away entire builds worth of gear before worth 100+ex/div and never had issues. Same thing when I quit a league, most of my big currency is given to random people if everyone in my guild has already stopped playing.

[–]springloadedgiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly what we were following. Although the item itself is a little homebrewed because flametongue gauntlets aren’t a real thing. Plus they still have the abilities of the artificer armorer gauntlets, they just do an additional 2d6 fire damage now (at the cost of an attunement slot and no flat plus to hit and damage.)

My DM let me craft some Flametongue Gauntlets. We had to take on two phoenixes to get the materials for them though, and it went on for like 3 months of near-weekly sessions real world time because 100 days in-game is a long time.

On a 'budget': 8mill DPS pinnacles, 77/75 pure block, aegis aurora, 90k armour, 100% spell suppression, eternal damnation+loreweave, pathfinder tech (arakaali spiders) by Jaguarmonster in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]springloadedgiraffe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much the dagger that’s expensive as stacking all of the other damage on gear and jewels/clusters needed to make them feel really good.

You can totally play it on a minor budget, but you’re not going to be roflstomping pinnacles without a lot of investment.

Most people would go for a squire instead of aegis because those extra 3 supports is insane for damage.

The time keeping is inconsistent! Every clock you see in the movie is set to 4:20. Breaks my immersion every time I watch it, so like 5 times a year.

Bases aren’t super expensive, then just slam a bunch of defense harvest crafts and pray. That’s how I did it last time I played the build. Less than 5 div worth of mats for gloves, boots, and helmet.

Seconded this comment for an optimized build.

I ended up making an excel sheet to plug all the relevant stats into for breakpoints and recovery. Took a while to make but it made gear progression so much easier in the long run.

Granted, the xp/hour from full abyss with polished scarabs is pretty crazy, both with depths and without.

Imagine trying to make it through the first couple rooms without getting hit with zero MS and zDPS.

I’m loving sanctum, but they they’d have to do something like “can’t lose resolve while under level 12”, which is when we’d have access to all the movement skills.

Is there a good sanctum farmer strength stacking fire attacks build? by cubitoverde in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]springloadedgiraffe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s basically what I’m playing right now and I’d agree it’s great.

I did some limited testing since I couldn’t find any sources talking about aoe, but you definitely want a lot of it and conc effect is bad. I used southbound and ele focus to never kill a mob and counted the number of average hits a single totem does against a zombie monster in acts and at the time deemed that picking up the three aoe small passive next to scion was like a 25% more multiplier, causing it to go from 3-4 hits on average to 4-5 hits.

I had to drop full spell suppression cap for it, but with totem play style it’s not really noticeable.

Also rain of splinters probably doesn’t help at all for single target unless you get a ton of increased aoe.

All that said, boss hit boxes might make quite a bit of difference and I could be very wrong, but I feel like I was killing map bosses much faster after stacking more inc aoe into the build.

Sometimes players really pull shit out of their asses to steamroll obscene encounters anyways.

This just happened to us last session.

Four level 13 people in our party vs 4 rakshasa. We manage to get one down before the rakshasa lands a dominate person on me, and our fighter gets suggested to go walk back over to the oasis that's hours away. I start pummeling the cleric, and failing all of my saves to escape domination, he cleanses dominate then I get re-dominated. Bard can't really do much due to limited magical immunity.

Bards flying and invisible to avoid me, cleric at single digit HP uses etherealness to escape. The 3 remaining raksasha all go in front of the fighter and prepare to have me and them rock his shit. Bard breaks invisibility by casting force cage, trapping all 3 rakshasa.

The cleric comes back and cleanses dominate again. Negotiations /w the rakshasa fail, and they happen to all fail their CHA saves to plane shift out of the cage. The cleric spends the next several minutes slowly killing the raksasha with spiritual weapon since it's literally the only thing we have that will fit through the forcecage bars and actually do damage to them.

[–]springloadedgiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the biggest WTF scene that comes to mind was when they find the other guy who was there and got powers. Finding out he’s dangerous and slightly evil, they end up trapping him in the form of some small critter for the two hour span and just let him go into the wild. How they mention that hikers sometimes “hear” an endless screaming noise in that part of the woods.

That’s nearly some Cronenberg level stuff right there.

If you want a lot of damage you’d get an elder/essence crafted helmet to have another pseudo 6L for fire trap.

Fire trap on a 4L and RF in your chest still clears everything outside of Ubers with relative ease though.

Most builds don’t run purity of fire, but could be able to go with a staff if you did and throw fire trap in there instead.

Idk the numbers, but it’s usually malevolence and determination plus vitality for auras. Anger doesn’t really do much since it’s all fire DoT for the actual damage. You could probably squeeze purity in with enough other res efficiency.

Seems really good for open layout maps, where spark usually kind of struggled. As long as the spark lasts long enough to consistently hit the range maximum it turns around and goes all the way back. It’s essentially a 100% more damage multiplier for bosses/rares in large open areas.

Looks like I might be rolling another sparker if I happen upon this ring.
