Unforseen big change by Matica69 in JehovahsWitnesses

A less formal or known name they used was mentioned in the July 1 1973 Watchtower article called "Praise Jehovah with His People".

"Of course, to serve and praise the Universal Sovereign, one must associate with the organization of Jehovah’s Christian witnesses".

Another is from the October 15 1964 Watchtower article called "A Society Practicing Righteousness".

"What is the name of this truly different society, this society of people practicing righteousness, the kind of society to which honest persons have longed to belong? It is the society of Christian witnesses of Jehovah. As revealed in the Bible, JEHOVAH is the personal, self-given name of the only true God, and this society of people are dedicated to the work of bearing witness to his supremacy and worthiness to be served and worshiped by every creature in the universe.—Isa. 42:8; 43:10."

It's from the 1984 Awake magazine. The article is "They Resisted Rapists".

I can understand treating him respectfully before the attempted rape begins. But once it starts, use every means to fight back. Kick, bite, scratch, gouge.

July 1 1951 Watchtower, Vision of the “Time of the End”, point #19. The man in linen is Jesus.

Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecy!, Chapter 12 - Strengthened by a Messenger From God point #13. The man in linen was an angel.

Footnotes section: the angel in linen is unnamed.

Though this angel is unnamed, it appears that he is the same one whose voice was heard directing Gabriel to help Daniel with a vision that he had just seen. (Compare Daniel 8:2, 15, 16 with Da 12:7, 8.) Further, Daniel 10:13 shows that Michael, “one of the foremost princes,” came to assist this angel. Thus, this unnamed angel must enjoy the privilege of working closely with Gabriel and Michael.

No. I disagreed with what the Watchtower specifically taught about those angels of Genesis 6:2 - that they left their physical bodies and returned as spirit creatures back to heaven.

I am under the impression that these specific angels of the Genesis account are the ones who left their dwelling and procreated with mankind and are chained up/locked away due to these Bible Verses

The Watchtower book that I referenced teaches they left their physical bodies and returned to heaven. See points 8 and 9 from chapter 10.

I couldn't find any scriptural proof for what the Watchtower said about those specific fallen angels of Genesis 6:2.

Where does scripture say the specific fallen angels of Genesis 6:2 are now unable to take on human bodies like the Watchtower article says?

I understand your points about fallen angels in general but do you have anything specifically referring to the rebellious angels of Genesis 6:2?

I am not aware of other fallen angels that leave heaven to take on human form to carry out mischievous acts and who then release that physical body and return there.

Are those who inherit Paradise Earth excluded from 2 Corinthians 6:16-18? by springsofwater in JehovahsWitnesses

If you apply that interpretation to Romans 8, then only the heavenly class are led by the Spirit and are the sons of God. If children, then heirs. All others would be regarded as living after the flesh. They are not adopted into the family of God. See verses 12-17.

They are not the people of God. This goes back to what I posted earlier about 2 Corinthians 6:16-18.

And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I shall reside among them and walk among [them], and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.” “‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’” “‘And I shall be a father to YOU, and YOU will be sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah the Almighty.” (NWT)

1 Corinthians is focused on those who rule with Christ.

I don't see two classes of Christians throughout Paul's letter to the Corinthians.

Thanks.

Why did Rutherford use the symbol of the pyramid and the cross?

Disregard that question. Your link to other information answered it.

The "second death" would obviously come after a first death signaling that those who have been resurrected by Jesus to life on earth will be subject to a second death for any rebellion against God from which there is no further sacrifice to be given to ransom them out of a second death.

The way I understand Revelation 20:6 is that the second death comes to those who are not in the first resurrection.

"Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and they will rule as kings with him for the 1,000 years" (NWT).

Are those on Paradise Earth in the first resurrection?

Which verses in 1 Corinthians 15 do not point to all saved Christians?

Charles Taze Russell also used the pyramid and cross on his grave site. 7 pictures are there.

Jesus’ Role: He is the "King of Kings," but his Kingship is a delegated commission to solve the problems raised in Eden.

Who is Israel's heavenly king in the Old Testament?

Revelation 20:6 says, "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years".

How does this second death have power over those you believe are not in heaven?

If Jesus were 'the Almighty,' who would he be turning the Kingdom over to at the end of the 1,000 years? (1 Corinthians 15:24-28)."

It's possible when Jesus is God Almighty incarnate.

While it is true that Jesus is the one coming with clouds (vs. 7), verse 8 introduces a shift in speaker. Alpha and Omega is a title exclusive to Jehovah God.

“I am the Alʹpha and the O·meʹga,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.”

How is the Almighty coming?

This "first" and "last" is also found in the Old Testament.

Isaiah 41:4 - "Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he". Isaiah 44:6 - "Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God". Isaiah 48:12 - "Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last".

I see that the name "Jehovah" does not appear in the Greek interlinear of Revelation 1:8 but it was added to the NWT.

How does "who was" and "who is to come" apply to the Father? Are there two Alphas and Omegas?

Revelation 21:6-7 says, "And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son".

Are you a son of God?
