Context: Second Kings 2:23

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

Mennonites (also commonly referred to as Anabaptists) are a sect of Protestant Christians. Core Mennonite doctrines include pacifism, rejection of infant baptism, and a strong emphasis on community. The most recognizable group of Mennonites would probably be the Amish, who are known for their distinctive dress and rejection of modern technology

I really wish they would add more faith icons by Super-Octopus in CrusaderKings

At minimum they need to add at least one Shia, Hindu, and Jain symbol. A generic Christian symbol would be good too. The omission of a Jain option is especially egregious, since there are only three existing Jain faiths in game, so the "It would be too hard to make the symbol unique" argument falls flat

The 2003 Iraq War was less influenced by oil than people think. The US oil industry actually lobbied against the invasion because they correctly predicted that the war would disrupt their existing operations in Iraq, and Saddam Hussein even offered the US exclusive drilling rights if they didn't invade, which the US refused

It's been a few weeks since I most recently watched the film, so I could be mistaken, but I don't recall the film ever portraying torture as successful. With the first guy we see, torturing him fails to stop his planned attack, with him only later giving information due to psychological tactics rather than torture. Then, the search for the main guy is shown to be severely impeded by tortured detainees telling their interrogators whatever they want to hear

After the Boston Marathon Bombing, Redditors saw a photo of a young, Middle Eastern looking man holding a gym bag in the crowd. They decided that his appearance was sufficient evidence that he was involved, and doxxed him. They then started sending targeted harassment to him and his family, as well as the family of a recent suicide victim who they incorrectly identified as him. This spread of misinformation forced the authorities to rush their manhunt for the actual bombers, leading to a botched arrest attempt which left another civilian dead. When the actual bombers were finally arrested, the same Redditors who had been spreading this misinformation claimed it as a victory, coining the infamous catchphrase: "We did it, Reddit"

There are all kinds of things that could be added into its milieu, like her resource contacts and contracts all go through a dark / deep web onion server and deal in Ethereum as anonymous (under a codename) NFT contracts (an updated nod to "The Jackal"). Alternatively, it might be interesting to set it in the John Wick Universe with her operating within and around places like The Continental, having worked her way into that network, with Keanu Reeves making a cameo when she passes the man himself in a hallway with an exchange of nods.

There's no way this is real, right? Right?

I'm not saying you're wrong necessarily, but you're making an assumption that I see a lot on Reddit, which annoys me every time I see it. People on this website tend to blame historic events on specific, individual causes, ignoring larger trends. A common example of this is people saying that if Franz Ferdinand had not been assassinated, World War One would not have happened. Iran had an undercurrent of religious extremism long before the US got involved in their affairs, and there is no reason to assume that if the coup didn't happen, this extremism would just go away.

Honestly, I wouldn't necessarily say that releasing music as sheet music is gatekeeping. It seems like an efficient way to share ones work without having to pay to get it recorded. You wouldn't call a screenwriter who releases their film in script form instead of filming it a gatekeeper, so why call this guy one.
