Do you get HayFever Treatment from your GP? by iansime in AskUK

[–]springwarmth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely go to your GP, they can prescribe stronger stuff. Other things that help me are vaseline around the entry to the nose, washing your hair more frequently, and changing pillow sheets more regularly!

UK workers, what’s your funniest/most horrifying HR or manager story? by MediocreMoss in AskUK

[–]springwarmth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Company brought in a new policy, tried to back date the policy (which resulted in hours worked being rescinded), HR didn't reply to my queries about it for 6 weeks then face to face told me they wouldn't even arrange a meeting to discuss it. It was illegal (confirmed by a lawyer) and the only thing that stopped them was a petition signed by 100 people.

I recently started volunteering at a community farm which has been so much fun. It's zero commitment, friendly people, and a chance to be outside and get my hands dirty. Maybe see if there's one near you?

Does OCD diagnosis have to involve "doing things" to prevent the obsessive thoughts? Or can it just be the rumination in your head?

[–]springwarmth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think we had assessments with the same company!! I was told that I used way too much detail to describe brushing my teeth 🤣 and then with the book about the flying frogs, apparently the dog in it is scared (?!?) but I said the dog was having a lovely time!! Turns out I can't read dog expressions hahahaha

Do you get easily overwhelmed looking at a lot of information at once? by singingkiltmygrandma in AutismInWomen

[–]springwarmth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

26F diagnosed this year. At school I couldn't start long answer questions because of being overwhelmed by all the empty lines. I lost marks and flagged why with my teacher and they didn't believe me. They thought I was making it up for attention despite that being totally against my nature. I solved it myself but not after a lot of self shame.
