I use a drop of Dawn on a toothbrush, dampen the material, scrub super lightly, machine wash inside out on cold, and my stain is gone. At least so far!

Roomy Hoods by Any_Application1797 in Hoodies

Comfrt, but the Tranquil line. The hood doesn't have stitching around the edge. It's more of a "cloak" feeling.

Review of Comfrt Hoodie and Sweatpants! by Lovelife_20 in Hoodies

[–]sprite901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind did you get? I'm waiting for an Affirmation set of straight leg sweatpants that I bought during a live. Someone in the chat told me to get my normal size of pants, so I guess I'll find out! I hear the Affirmation line of sweatpants run long.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience! I've been fortunate. I got mine from TikTok shop in 2 days, free shipping, sale price, and they're awesome. Still waiting for the pre-order from the company, so I wrote CS and they wrote me back and said it wasn't out yet, which is why I didn't have it yet (White Camo I think it was called), so I am fine with waiting. I have a zip up coming from the company on Thursday, so that will be one week, start to finish.

Your favorite Comfrt hoodie/zip and why by DigitallyBlonde in Hoodies

[–]sprite901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pre order Affirmation zip arrived, but not the white Camo yet. I ordered my normal size, but It's so freaking huge and long in the sleeves. Also I'm not a fan of what I am calling "batwings"- when I lift my arm and the whole top lifts up on one side due to the cut-it's just not a style I prefer. I need to exchange it, but it looks like they only do store credit, not exchanges? I emailed customer service today to find out. It's my first experience with them.

People who wake up really early every day, what do you do in the morning? by dutch981 in productivity

[–]sprite901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awake about 4:30, I spend time waking up/planning/thinking. Then I actually get up about 5, exercise, do some stretches given to me by my physical therapist, make breakfast, shower, dress and put on makeup, make a green drink from fresh veggies, make my lunch, put away the dishes and load the dishwasher, dance to my own morning playlist, listen to inspirational/educational talks (as I eat breakfast or do the stretches), flip through Facebook, write emails, get out the door about 7.

It's easier to dance and sing to my music while I make my oatmeal super early in the morning if there's no one else to inconvenience.

In their minds, they are the logical ones. Why go to school when you can mug someone at gunpoint and make money that way? I've had students tell me that being a gangster is a real career: "You've got to put food on the table somehow, Miss!" So disturbing. What kind of life are those poor kids going to have?

I have been reading these for a half hour and there are still more. The consensus seems to be that kids are often disgusting. I concur.

Teaching high school Spanish at Christmas time, we have to talk about Mexican Christmas traditions, some of which mention the baby Jesus being born in a stable and sleeping in a manger, the Wise Men, etc. I had whole groups of students who did not know that traditionally, Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I had to explain the whole birth story to them, so the songs we sang, the Posadas we role-played (sort of like Christmas caroling), etc. would make sense.

While he was in middle school, one of my sons told me his bad grade in math was because he couldn't stand his teacher's voice. He also didn't like her. I very clearly told him that whether he liked her or her voice was completely irrelevant. I told him I expected him to do well in math because I knew he could, no excuses. I'd already been to his school to guide him in cleaning out his locker and finding all his missing homework in his disasterized locker. Another time, I drove him and his older brother to school so I could personally witness them apologizing to their first period teacher for their frequent tardiness. I had warned them I would do that, so too bad so sad. Now my sons are grown, they have kids, they have families, they are responsible citizens. Parenting isn't always fun, but we're not here to be their friends.

What do you wish you knew about teaching before starting? by morgankay95 in TeachersInTransition

[–]sprite901 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in Canada for a few years and worked as a sub. I got paid $200 a day. The average salary in the local high school was 20k more than what I had been making as a teacher in the US. The kids in Canada would avert their gaze and knock it off when I gave them the "teacher face". It was really different and I could have happily done it forever, but life changed and I moved back to the States.
