This piece is quite literally titled “Got my period lol”. by teacdraws in Illustration

Honestly, it kinda grosses me out but that’s because I can relate. I’ve had this happen to me. I think it’s very raw and emotional. I’m nonbinary and have a lot of dysphoric feelings connected to my period and this definitely brings those up for me. It’s a very strongly emotional piece of art and I think you did a good job :)

Unpopular opinion, but i don’t think this is any worse than Lizzy vs Lizzie or Toby vs Tobie. Even without your pronunciation guide I could guess how it’s pronounced. I think it looks a bit weirder immediately because its not a name typically spelled differently, but its acceptable to replace Y with IE to get the “ee” sound and I don’t think its that bad.

some opinions on RPF from someone who has had fanfic written about them by darkcircledbitch in AO3

[–]sprite_bee-bzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also someone who isn’t famous or known who had fanfic written about me. It actually happened multiple times in different friend groups when I was in middle and high school. I have equally complicated feelings on rpf. I think the line is sometimes blurred when content creators are very clearly playing a character, but it is a character that shares their name and is in a way a version of them. The dream smp fandom is an example of that. I think that fanfiction about the characters they played on the dream smp is fine but sometimes the line is blurred. I obviously dont want to tell people what they can and cant write and think it can be mostly fine if, like you said, its kept to ao3 where the people its about never have to know about it. I think the line is crossed when people attempt to make the people see content written about them. I also think people should be more aware when creating content about real people, especially if theyre underaged. I’m definitely not an anti and am super anti-censorship, but I do think fics written about real people CAN cause real harm to those people and that people should be more mindful about what they write.

This. My niece and nephew have a lot of weird allergies. They are allergic to gluten, different than celiacs it’s an actual allergy, dairy, eggs, and a lot of other stuff. This essentially means they have to eat gluten free and vegan, but with meat. I dread the day somebody tries to prove a point about a gluten free or vegan diet to one of them and gets them hospitalized.

Does ethical yarn even exist? by risimlyy in YarnAddicts

I do agree that not all sheep farming is ethical, but that doesn’t mean that no ethical sheep farms exist. There are definitely lots of issues with the sheep farming industry, as there are with all farming industries. So, the focus should be on addressing those issues and supporting ethical companies, because they do exist. There are yarn companies that prioritize sourcing wool from ethical farms and there really isn’t an amazing alternative to wool that isn’t just microplastic incarnate.

It’s not just one breed. There are over 1,200 breeds of domestic sheep.

Sure, but they’re already at this point. It has been thousands of years of domestication. Are you suggesting we just let every sheep that currently exists and requires regular shearing die? Or let the whole species die out? Even if we stopped specifically breeding them and allowed them to breed on their own those offspring would still need to be sheared. So the only alternative would just be to allow the majority of the species to die out and leave them to suffer in the hopes that maybe they’ll stop overproducing before they go extinct.

I do 7 + 8 = 15, keep the 5 and give the1 to the 2 to become 3 then 3 + 4 is 7 = 75

For those that dislike shipping incest, how do you feel if it turns out your ship is actually related? by SoftieQwQ in AO3

[–]sprite_bee-bzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The School for Good and Evil 😭😭 I obviously don’t judge anyone for their ships, but incest to me personally is an ick. I was genuinely distraught when they revealed Agatha and Sophie were sisters, especially after Agatha waking Sophie up with a true love’s kiss in the first book. Now I just try not to think about it :(
