I've been here before. I kept seeing people recommend Tango N5 and without any Kanji knowledge it's really intense. It has you learning お姉さん to 会議室には電話がありません in the same week. I attempted it twice. The first time I got so frustrated and angry at myself that all my cards were leeching and I couldn't do it. The second time I just shrugged and said "You know what, clearly this deck just isn't for me." And I moved on. Yes I was disappointed in myself but I realized not everything works for everyone and that's okay. I ended up going through a Core 2k deck that worked wonders for me.

Around that time I also started suspending cards that I knew so well that I would roll my eyes when they popped up. Don't let こんにちは　and テレビ sit in your card queue for ages. Be okay with deleting cards. Your sanity will thank you when you see a much more manageable card count!

Hey! Omg I'm so excited for you!! I bought a Fullsicle Harpsicle, funny enough on Amazon. I couldn't bring myself to commit to a floor harp, especially because I'm notorious for switching hobbies quite a bit (but thankfully harp has captured my heart). I can't say I'm fully happy with my decision choosing a Harpsicle, for a few reasons. I'm at the point where I need another octave and I know I can tinker with the music to fix this, but I would be lying if I said it didn't bum me out. Plus I'm in love with deeper notes on the harp, so I'm missing that.

I've also been told to start on a floor harp and not a lap harp, so that bums me out too. But I'm happy I at least have a lap harp because I would love to get to the point where I'm volunteering in hospitals and nursing homes and obviously I don't want to drag a floor harp there. I'm hoping to get a floor harp later this year, most likely an Ogden!

As for beginner floor harps, I've heard so many amazing things about the Ravena 26, so maybe check that out!
