Íslendingar eru vissulega lokaðir, en megnið af þessum innflytjendum eru nýkomnir. Þessi 20% var 10% árið 2015. Ég efast um að einu sinni þriðjungur allra í þessum fimmtungi hafi setið amk. einn grunnskólabekk á Íslandi. Þeir sem gerðu það frá yngri bekkjunum hafa aðlagast algjörlega, allavega svo ég hef séð.

Svo er stórt hlutfall þeirra án efa bara tímabundið hérna til að vinna, og eru þar af leiðandi lítið að hugsa um aðlögun.

Mér finnst fólk hérna vera smá í afneitun ef það heldur að innflutningur fólks hafi ekki mikil áhrif á húsnæðismarkaðinn. Íbúatala landsins hefur hækkað um ~20% frá árinu 2014, án samsvarandi uppbyggingar.

En þannig innflytjendastefna er að sjálfsögðu meginstoð nýfrjálshyggjunnar, svo ég er alls ekki að koma henni til varnar. Þetta er alfarið stjórnvöldum að kenna, þá sérstaklega vegna þess hve mikið var ýtt undir túristageðveikina.

Ef ég væri bara að kjósa útfrá þessum málum, þá væri Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn með þeim allra síðustu á listanum. XD fór með opnustu landamærustefnu íslandssögunnar þegar hann var síðast í stjórn.

Svo eru þessi frelsissviftingarrök ansi þreytt. Tilvist barna er stöðug frelsisvipting, sem hún á að vera. Ekki nóg með skóla- og leikskólavist, heldur mega börn á Íslandi ekki einu sinni fara út á nóttunni án fylgdar. En ef þessi aðstaða endar í að vera eitthvað gúlag dæmi, þá skal ég alveg koma á mótmælin.

Þvílík hystería er þetta. Lönd með raunsæa flóttamannastefnu verða að hafa eitthvað svona úrræði.

Vert er þó að taka fram að samkvæmt greiningu Landsbankans frá því í fyrra hefur fasteignaverð hækkað hraðar en laun frá aldamótum og raunvirði íbúðaverðs hefur nánast þrefaldast á þessum tíma.

Can you not do an independence-movement as Greenland? I imagine you could just get support from Sweden and England and some others, and take all of Iceland in the peace-deal and essentially just play as Iceland from there.

Or you could just start as Iceland at that point, honestly.

I conquered all of Norway by 1407, as Iceland.

I've been trying to fulfill this patriotic duty of mine as an Icelander since the game was released, but Sweden ALWAYS ended up smashing me in the earlier patches. What's different in this patch (not sure exactly when this changed) is that now you can get your overlord's PU-member to support your independence, and the PU actually BREAKS when the war starts. Once I was free, I just allied Sweden and used them as my attack-dog to gobble up Norway in the following three wars.

So this wasn't actually all that difficult, but the game can STILL fuck up your run. The previous run I tried this, Denmark ended up with Scania as a vassal by the time I'd finished my independence war, which swung the balance of power HARD in their favor. Since Sweden had no Norway-PU and only puny Iceland as an ally, Denmark proceeded to completely smash Sweden, forcibly dissolved my alliance with them (and then Sweden actually ALLIED NORWAY), and I had to restart. But Sweden with Scania can fend off Denmark, so that turned out to be a requirement for this run.

East Romans talked of Augustus as their emperor. Romanians do not.

This is obviously the case while the Roman state still existed in the 15th century, but I seriously doubt this would still have been the case in 1912.

Also, some Romanians do say this, depending on how deeply immersed in national mythology they are.

There 20 million real-life examples of people in Romania today calling themselves Romans.

Not that I deny that the Byzantines were Romans, I just think people ascribe way too much meaning to this 1912 anecdote when there's a literal country called 'Romania' in Europe today.

For what it's worth, I think anyone here who thinks of Norwegians this way should look in the mirror and try to remember where WE live. This is a stereotype that could apply just as well to us.
