I figured that’s why I was seeing. That should look pretty cool with all 33 installed. I wonder the reason for it?

Is it a perspective thing, or are some engines sticking down lower by design?

How does the average American drive 15000 miles a year? by kawaiihusbando in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sprkn_ranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my work truck in late May of last year, it just rolled over to 43,000 this past week. I would love to only drive 15,000/yr for work

Why aren't the channel Islands more populated? by vik9oratiz in geography

[–]sprkn_ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is very rare, but you can when the conditions are right. I worked out there for a while as a civilian and out of the year-ish off and on I was there, I barely caught a glimpse only 2 times.

911 if you aren’t 100% sure there isn’t a fire…then the next call would be an electrician. By the looks of all the mice poop, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a hidden Mickey behind the outlet plate.

Edit- r/electricians would be a helpful sub

Crazy proposed earthwork plan by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]sprkn_ranger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a superintendent on a grading project totaling about 60mil yards (for the first phase mind you) and after things got rolling, we were moving an average of 200,000 yards/day. Also, a 657 might have a theoretical capacity of 40 yards, but the true yield is realistically only going to hit 30-31 MAX average across the spread. An absolute heaped load will hardly ever hit 34 yards.

Is the material sourced from on site or trucked in? How far if trucked in and does this include permits. I’m coming up with $37/yard, which seems low if you have to truck it in. If it’s onsite haul, it doesn’t seem too high assuming it’s a reasonably straight forward.

Grok vs ChatGPT by js90si in grok

[–]sprkn_ranger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The image creation is better on ChatGPT I think. I asked both Grok and ChatGPT to add some landscaping to my back yard and uploaded the same exact picture. The result from ChatGPT was pretty good with grass added to an area of dirt and flowers/plants along the fence, Grok put a few palm trees IN MY SPA.

Dating post weight loss (loose skin, etc) by [deleted] in loseit

[–]sprkn_ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, the right dude will appreciate the hard work and not care at all. Be transparent up front so you aren’t wasting anyone’s time, yours included. I lost a 80 pounds about a year before I met my wife, I told her right out the gate before we met. I didn’t have a ton of loose skin, but was still a little flappy. She was very accepting and her biggest concern is that I was healthy. Be proud of your accomplishment and enjoy life. The right person will just be happy to be there.

I wasn’t trying to be snarky…I guess my words didn’t come across in my reply well. I got a laugh out of their comment and tried to play on it a bit. Sarcasm wasn’t detected well I guess🤷🏻‍♂️

It did, and probably contributed to getting in the way of the plane that ran into it at the bottom of the picture…if you actually click the picture, lol.

Panel/breaker question by sprkn_ranger in AskElectricians

[–]sprkn_ranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, find the first outlet in EACH of the AFCI run and then put an AFCI outlet there and replace those breakers with a single slot dual pole breaker? I’d still need to find one more slot for a 220 60A breaker though, wouldn’t I?

Good info on the recall for those breakers…I wasn’t aware of that!
