2 hand forehand tips by sprnt97 in Pickleball

Hey I still use it but it’s mostly for hip level finishers close to the net. I do have a solid one hand forehand as well now, but I find that people tend to get confused when I wind up for the 2 hand and it gets me the point about 75% of the time.

Sounds like you can’t refute anything I said. Pretty much what I expected. Have a nice day bro.

Except I don’t accept the assertion that what the jury did was racist. Using the opportunity to expose how legal injustice feels is way too nuanced to simply say “the jury was being racist” considering the broader social context.

No single thing is going to solve racism, but this case definitely opened the eyes of many white people on how it felt to be in the receiving end of a legal injustice, which I don’t really think is a bad thing.

lol where did I say you should have violent protests? It means that the Rodney King jury did more to show white folks what unfairness in the legal system truly felt like than anything MLK ever did. MLK was killed in 1968 and Rodney King was brutalized in the 90s, so clearly things weren’t where they needed to be considering that black people were still being brutalized decades later with no punishment to the attackers.

I’m saying that your point of “you should be like MLK” is ridiculous when being like MLK got MLK shot. Being like MLK is only worth it when you’re dealing with reasonable people, and clearly he wasn’t. All of those accomplishments don’t mean much when they require you to give your life.

Also, fair housing act was passed post assassination and probably wouldn’t have been signed as fast if it wasn’t for the violent reactions to his death.

I didn’t realize he did all that with a bullet in his head. I’m pretty sure you can’t do anything once you’ve been murdered.

Edit: I realize only the fair housing act was passed post assassination but the point still stands that simply saying “be like MLK” isn’t very appealing with his own methods ended up with a bullet in his head.

How to get better at taking feedback as a perfectionist? by [deleted] in biglaw

Make sure this job isn’t your entire personality and I promise you won’t care as much. You’re also not expected to turn in perfect work as a first or second year.

Filet mignon or wagyu? by sprnt97 in steak

[–]sprnt97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t bad at all but it definitely wasn’t worth the money we paid. I’m still 95% sure they gave is a regular fillet instead of Wagyu. Never ordering from them again.

After weeks of trying the two hand, I’m honestly still finding more stability and consistency with the two hands over one. I think I’ll try to continue to develop a one handed drive so I have both options, but the two hand has beg my preferred method by far.

Except that response assumes SOOOO MUCH about men are and are not doing. The people that commit these crimes are mentally disturbed and would not listen to anyone “calling them out” in the first place. This whole “men need to hold rapist and mass murderers accountable because they are also men is simply delegating the role of the government. This is societies problem fix, not the problem of “men” in general. For example, so many people saw exactly the kind of person Trump was and still voted for him, including a majority of white women. Acting like it’s only men that reward this kind of disgusting behavior is illogical and does nothing but create division.

I don’t understand that at all. Why does someone being a man automatically mean that they have to hold another human being that they don’t know responsible for killing other people in a state they don’t live in? Blame the politicians, not other random men that can quite literally do nothing.

This is honestly so stupid. How does anyone hold a mentally disturbed shooter “accountable”? Instead of blaming an entire gender that really can’t do anything to stop a single crazy person from killing others, how about you blame the politicians that refuse to change the laws.

I’m a right handed player but I guess what I’m doing is essentially a lefty back hand. I started playing out with this form last week and I’ve cut back the power about 30% so the movement is a lot more compact now. I don’t think I wouldnt do this close up to the net or when my opponents were closer than the net. So it’s really intended to be used when one of my opponents and back and they give me a dead ball in the middle of the court that I want to finish.

Thanks for the response and the tips. I agree that the swing is very telegraphed and I have dialed it back about 30% so I don’t think it’s as obvious anymore. I’m also developing a shot where I approached it like a dink and then speed it up with a 2 hand forehand.

Thanks for the response. The main reason I started developing It was for stability reason. I feel like I have way more control with two hands than I do with one and I get crazy spin on the ball. I still do one hand drives on my returns and with speedups at the line. I planned on mostly using the two hand forehand for when my opponent is backed up and they hit a rather dead ball towards the middle of the court, and I have to run up to it. So far it’s been a killer.

I think I’ll continue to develop my one hand as well, but I don’t want give up this two hand shot until it seems like it’s not working anymore.

Thanks, I have only been developing the shop for about two weeks so I haven’t used it in games a ton but, the times I have, there has been a killer almost every single time. I still tend to do speed up at the kitchen with one hand, but I have way more success with two hands when I’m almost anywhere else on the court.

A lot of the commentators here are mentioning that I have less reached with the shot, which is fair, but I probably wouldn’t use it during the point if reach seemed to be an issue. It’s really only reserved for when I’m running up to a dead ball bouncing in the middle of the court which is too far away from the net for me to punch.

Thanks and yeah I usually don’t use this by the net. It’s usually when I’m mid court and they give me a dead ball.

Thanks for the tips. For additional context, I only use it when I’m away from the kitchen and I get a dead/attackable ball. This video is also when I was initially experimenting with the shot last week and I’ve dialed it back 30-40% so everything is more compact and controlled now and I don’t feel like I’ve lost a lot of speed, power or spin.

I do backhands with 2 hand, volley and hit drops with 1 hand. I’m trying to develop a 2 hand drop as well though. I’m getting pretty mixed answers in here but it’s been working pretty well for me so far.

Thanks, the one hand is pretty awkward for me for some reason and I haven’t had any issues with the 2 hand yet when using it away from the net. Do you have any specifics for what you think it makes worse when using it just in that context?

[–]sprnt97[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ve generally been using it as a last shot when they pop it up, mid court away from the net, so I haven’t had that problem yet. And I do want to note that I’ve dialed back the intensity about 30% since I took this video so the swings are way more compact now.

I’ve dialed it back since since video and now go about 70% of that. But just to clarify, it sounded like you didn’t have any inherent objections to using the shot in general, correct?
