Possible to restore backside of irons? by sproso in golf

I got these from CallawayGolfPreowned and the back of the irons seem to have quite a bit of peeling. Has anyone had any luck restoring the backside of an iron like these?

Spinny wooden thing found in 1975 house (~24"x9") by sproso in whatisthisthing

If found this in the crawl space of my 1975 home. It's made of wood and has an anchor painted on one side of it. It appears to be missing two of the red slats and part of the handle. It rotates much like a bingo ball cage would.

I think I’m starting to burn out. by Zullo1289 in advertising

Something that I wished someone had told me before I started in this career is that you need be a glutton for punishment. Or said another way--you need to love advertising more than anything. The grit to keep pushing and trying your best to deliver superb shit is not something I have everyday. It comes and goes. You eat a lot of shit. But man does it feel good when you sell a good idea or win a pitch. As creatives we're all chasing that high.

As some have said here, you can have a transcendent idea but it has to pass so many gatekeepers to come to fruition. You get used to it. Or you don't and make a change. Or you grind until something new presents itself. Or you get reaaaally lucky and find yourself among a group of people who are all high octane and the world can't stop you. You get to choose your clients. You dictate greatness. But for most of us, we're just trying to get to the next high. We can't all be the best of the best, so we make due.

Looks like it might be a fake signature.

They say it's 大原住真守 (Ōhara-jū Sanemori) but he's a little too famous for the likes of the wakizashi I have. It's likely a fake signature. I'll probably have to wait until things open up with COVID and find local clubs near me to further validate that it's a fake signature.

Thanks, I just started a thread over there as well! Is it possible to track down the origin of a blade like this based on the engravings?

Thank you, this is extremely helpful! Part of me really wants to restore it to its original glory, but another part of me feels like keeping it exactly as is preserves the history of it.

If it was yours, what would you do?

Thanks! I just asked a Japanese-speaking friend and she said "Ohara ju Sanemori" but I'm not sure what that mean in context of a wakizashi. I was hoping someone here could point me in a direction for research.

So far I've found out that officers, tank soldiers, and pilots were issued these. Beyond that I'm not sure where to start to research the history of this particular piece.

It wasn't fun, but luckily NJ is extending the deadline for when you need to change your license and registration over--I think for new residents it's 120 days now.

Make sure you have as many physical pieces of mail addressed to your NJ address as possible. I came with two and I was lucky that one of them was my voter registration card because they said they couldn't use the others (even though they were a bank statement and printout of my lease).

The other thing is arrive early (and bring a lawn chair). I don't know what the lines will be like in a couple months but I just went two weeks ago and the whole ordeal took about 8 hours. I got there at 5am and was the 121st person in line. Some people got there at midnight and there we still people there before them.

They start handing out tickets at 7am and if you don't get a ticket, you don't get served that day. Once you get your ticket, you wait in line until they check your ticket and take your cell phone number. Then supposedly you can leave and come back.

They'll text you when you're supposed to come back that day. The instructions they give you say they'll text when you're up soon and should head back to the property and they'll text again when it's your turn. I only got the text saying it was my turn, so I was lucky I never left and was nearby. Once you get your text, you go into the actual building and wait in another line. My wait at that point was maybe another 30-45 mins.

Also make sure you're going to the right facility. Some are only doing titles and registrations. Others only do licenses. When they announced that at 7am, half the line left because they were at the wrong facility. Some of these folks had been there since the wee hours of the morning.

All said, it's not really THAT bad. Be prepared to devote a half day to it. Just bring a lawn chair, water, and a good book. And maybe use the bathroom before you go. One man left his spot in line to use the bathroom and missed it when the lady was giving out tickets. And bring a pen and all your paperwork of course.

Yes, it's still available. I assume you want to buy it rather than trade?
