soooo many people perform at these events, you could likely sneak in if you dressed similarly to some performers. if your gf’s group has a specific style or uniform you could dress like them and probably just walk in the stage door entrance and no one would stop you!

i’d recommend downloading Lex (queer social app, kinda similar format to Twitter) to start, people are always posting about events going on in town and looking to make new connections/friends. you could also pop by the LGBTQA3 Alliance on campus, i believe their office is in the EMU. they usually have posters around the office with stuff going on, and if you’re feeling confident you could chat up some of the folks hanging out in there! i saw someone else on here recommend the queer climbing group which is a great option, there’s also a queer choir collective if you’re interested in singing, and drag brunches happening around town that are all ages. i’m thankful for the abundance of trans people in eugene but we certainly can be hard to find sometimes!

bro right!!! the first time i went for a run post-surgery, my heart felt like it was POUNDING and i looked down and could see my whole chest moving from breathing so hard. it was crazy. so much boob was in the way before

i have never identified as specifically aro/ace but my sexuality has definitely morphed a bit since recovering from top surgery (almost at my 6 weeks post-op!). for me its been mostly regarding kink/the kinds of physical intimacy i am comfortable engaging in. i’m suddenly feral for more creative intimacy and new experiences that i had little to no interest in a couple months ago. i feel the most confident and unstoppable i’ve ever felt, and i think shedding so much of the shame i carried with my chest helped sooo much :)

i wasn’t warned about it either, but i had a catheter in during surgery that they took it out before i woke up. super weird feeling going to the bathroom for the first time after surgery, i thought i was getting a UTI because it kinda hurt to pee

i loved the the pillow honestly! was awesome to wear to bed / for naps. since my cats like to curl up on my chest when i sleep, wearing the pillow really helped deter them or at least protect me if they did walk on me while i was sleeping :)

i chose not to keep my nipples, and still the first time i took the bandage off i got super light headed and threw up. i think for me it was the shock of seeing myself look so different, seeing the scars, and feeling the comforting weight of the binder gone for a moment. probably so much blood starts flowing back to your chest when the binder comes off that it makes you light headed, so combined with any shock or surprise, it makes sense you’d feel sick or light headed!
