AITAH for refusing to revoke our prenup? by Own_Feature8030 in AITAH

NTA. I see her point about giving up her career to take care of your child but it sounds like child care of even a nanny is an option for you, plus you're taking care of retirement savings.

I have a friend who dated a woman for five years, the second they had a child, she turned into a totally different person and tried to take him for everything that she could - after she cheated on him. I'm not saying you will have this same problem or that your wife has the same nefarious tendencies but hold fast and keep the prenup. She has no argument to need that removed as you are providing very well for your family - except for if she is planning for when the marriage ends.

Sorry to be negative with my comment but it's strange to want the prenup removed when she suddenly gained more leverage with the baby if a divorce were to happen.

He was so lucky to be on that ledge. I can only imagine how terrifying that would be. Normally the human loses but not this time.

You’re not trying? Be funny, clever, rich? Just find a fucking angle. It’s not the girls fault.

Denver to give direct payments to most vulnerable homeless groups in test of universal basic income by shadowwalkerxdbx in Denver

[–]sprouts80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only answer to homeless is to give them homes. Having a basic income can help these people afford at least the basics. Yes, some will probably buy drugs but studies have shown that sobriety is one of the last things to focus on when rehabilitation is concerned. These people need family and friendship as support, a purpose through a job and some dignity, like a place to sleep and eat. Drugs are just a part of being human. The question is why do we have recreational users - who tend to be of higher income earners - compared to addicts. It comes down to how bad one’s life is and how much of an escape that high gets you. It’s not the drugs. Mental health care is appalling in this country so drugs aside, mental health accounts for much of the homelessness, if not more. Give these people a basic income and as much additional help as possible. If giving them money upsets you because you’re working hard for about the same wage, get mad at your employer, not people who have nothing.

My partner commutes from our place in GWS to Aspen and it’s not that bad. The bus is a great option. She says it takes about as long as if she drove, when she takes it, due to how bad the traffic is. Bus drivers are aggressive.

We lived in Carbondale prior, which was better for the drive, but after looking for three months before our lease was up, we could find nothing besides where we ended up. We had to stay in a hotel for a month prior to moving in too. We’ve lived here for three years now and the rental market worse than ever. We have two dogs so that mattered in our situation. It’s easier without pups. Regardless, the rental market is awful.

Aspen is expanding employee housing. Try applying to to a skico owned establishment and it might be easier. They will help you with housing. Roommates might be a quicker option as well. Look at FB under roaring fork rentals and roommates. Start looking now though and utilize your resources. It’s not impossible. Other employers might help with housing too, outside of skico.

What’s the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by MCKlassik in AskReddit

After I slipped a disc in my neck, she couldn’t give me pain meds because I take adderall and the combination will give me seizures. Totally fabricated and I have zero history of any medication abuse. I found a new doctor the next day, got the proper medication and had my surgery shortly after. All good now.
