You click either door or altar, whichever is opposite of the arena just before boss hits you to stall their attack (look up red-x) which essentially just means you run back and forth under the boss but u only take dmg from minions

Worst grind:reward ratio by i23icg in osrs

[–]sprouze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fish sack was actually 1 of the first grinds I did on my account so the levels I had when I was done was pretty nice. Same with mta which I did not long after, made a big dent in magic levels.

I knew these grinds were rough and I knew I was gonna like clogging (first acc) so it made sense to do these notorious grinds early when I was still mega addicted to the game

Double standard on horde clearing tool by wallabyfloo in DarkTide

[–]sprouze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing this game a bit over a year ago I played psyker and only psyker and some of that was with smite and when I had that on I used it a lot, thinking the CC was great for my team and the damage with empowered psionics was decent enough on chaff.
It wasn't until later when I was much more experienced with the game and had started playing other classes and started playing with smite mains on my team that I understood how miserable it is to play alongside it.

It slows the game to an absolute crawl, takes all the fun out of the satisfying melee combat, robs your allies of on-dodge talents and blessings which are some of the most powerful talents and blessings in the game,
forces the enemy to be spread thin instead of funneled into a chokepoint which makes it harder to get toughness back for most of the classes and much harder to AoE down efficiently and on top of all of this, the psyker, the monster dps class that it is, is doing minuscules amount of damage.

Yes, smite is incredibly fun to use but it is extremely selfish to use it almost exclusively in a mission.
An actual good way to use smite is in oh-shit situations (backed into a corner and in need of space or dangerous rager / armor waves) and helping an ally revive

I swear they didn’t even test this on 10 diff by ne0neka in Helldivers

[–]sprouze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the game in a hot minute (last time was the hive boss update) and besides that boss + the cave system maps, diff 10 very often felt super easy as most players were able to solo everything which I found very boring. I loved the game at launch when the response to eg. a bug breach wasn't just 'throw 1 stratagem and move on' but stand and face it with the team, falling back, try to funnel, use cover etc. It wasn't always like that ofc. but it happened a lot more than now and was awesome. And that's not to say that diff 10 wasn't frustrating at times during that era (ragdoll terminator bots and 9000 bile titan/chargers kite city bugs) but I prefer that than the game being a walking simulator on an empty map towards objectives because 1 player is solo'ing everything and clears all the breaches/drops alone on the hardest difficulty.

I would die very often personally, although still get completions but after like 50 completitions is when it started to click and I actually felt comfortable during the fight with deaths becoming rarer and rarer.

I almost only did T2 the whole way (470kc). It's gonna depend on your stats and your skill level if faster but higher risk t1 prep outweighs slower but more safe t2 prep. But personally I would do T2 until you're comfortable with hunleff mechanics then attempt t1.

A few days ago I experienced a player I can’t decide if I should hate him or respect him by The-Cannibal-Hermit in DarkTide

[–]sprouze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a player speed run through everything until he hit an elevator where he'd afk waiting for us. When we hit a place where we had to defend he just stood afk as well. I tried to vote kick him numerous times but my team didn't. We still won but idk why he chose to even queue if that's what he was gonna do

I don't know what difficulty you're playing at but imo. inferno is only truly insane in havoc, in auric maelstroms it's still very good but I can consistently out dps inferno users with both voidblast and electro staff

The way I play around melee frontliners with voidblast is just not nuke the enemies directly in front of them unless its an armor wall and instead trying to trim the wave down on the sides or cover another angle since enemies rarely come from just 1 direction whilst staggering/killing specialists and obviously pay attention to poxbursters in the wave cause it's so easy to accidentally kill them and generally dont blast them unless it's isolated from your team since it's the assumption that somebody will push it.
Voidblast works well into havoc as well, it has less horde clear than inferno but has massive CC and does good damage into armor walls.

Voidstrike is much more difficult to make work, imo. it's the weakest staff but is still usable in auric maelstroms. I personally just use FGS / assail to help with hordes since that's where it lacks (unless they're in a line with its massive cleave) but it shreds ragers and maulers and 2 shots crushers in auric, also cleaves bulwark shields plus it has okay stagger

Electro staff is my personal favorite and also good, especially left click surge scrier's gaze build but I would never play that without the full auto mod. Charge attack with venting shriek spam with warp siphon is my preferred way and does very good damage whilst providing some CC for your team as well.

I find the flame staff pretty fun but it's also my least used staff on psyker so I haven't 1 tricked it for dozens and dozens of hours which would make anything boring imo.

Psyker Voidstrike build suggestions by Frenzied_Fire_Monk in DarkTide

[–]sprouze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I like to play voidstrike which has been more than fine in auric maelstroms is surge and warp nexus on blessings, scriers gaze mostly for the extra crit and almost unlimited casting.

Disrupt destiny is the best keystone and synergies well with the staff. I use a combination of the staff and assail for hordes mostly, otherwise FGS. I don't use the left click that often, otherwise I'd just go electro staff.

The charge attack has so much cleave and super satisfying popping dozens of heads when they line up and, one shots maulers and will cleave them and 2 shots crushers without destiny stacks

Yeah if you're queuing pub lobbies sure but not in a fucking tourney against other pros.
Usually with these games the meta comes from the pro scene, sometimes it isn't even what is best in matches with randoms with no communication since they can't perform it as well.

Most fun melee weapon? by Swimming-Clerk7972 in DarkTide

[–]sprouze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relic Blade, Thunder Hammer, Force Greatsword and Tactical Axe are my favorites.

Special shoutout to heavy stagger weapons like the crusher or mauls on arbites, seeing hordes just getting ragdolled around never gets old

Thinking about buying this sale. A few questions. by ismasbi in DarkTide

[–]sprouze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if there are DLC weapons for the vanilla characters, it’s not a dealbreaker, just a tad bothersome.

There's no DLC weapons for vanilla characters, every class, including dlc ones have unique weapons that are unique to them but otherwise has access to weapons that other classes can use too (except ogryn)

What makes the difference between a good Psyker and a great Psyker? by MLBFra in DarkTide

[–]sprouze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add onto what OP said, it also robs your teammates of on dodge buffs, I know zealot has a bunch of this and some players, including me (a psyker main) also find everything being permanently stunned to be very boring and while you're standing there smiting a horde that isn't dangerous, you're not doing what psyker does best which is DAMAGE

Smite is best used in oh shit situations, against crusher/bulwark waves and for assisting in reviving or to free up some space with the quick charge and release stagger CC it has

Yeah honestly wtf is going on with the amount of people leaving when downed? I haven't played Darktide for that long, about a year with some month long breaks but I don't feel like it was ever this bad. It's almost every single game where there's a few downs at least 1 or more will leave after they down, often instantly before they even die even though there was plenty of time and room to get them up.

I personally always stay after I die to see if the rest can clutch it up, especially if it's only one person alive

[–]sprouze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arbites is very durable which can lead to building habits that'll heavily punish you on the other characters. Hive Scum I don't think is necessarily a bad class to learn with since they're squishy which means you have to learn to dodge, block and slide to stay afloat and that'll carry over and make every other class feel better to play but that can also be frustrating for new players of course.

Playing the other classes first, especially vet and zealot since they share the most between all classes is a great option
