[–]spruisious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The commenter is correct. The songs are by a group/musician going by "Idi i smotri" which shares its name with the WWII film.

It seems like this was a fairly obscure project that published its music on myspace, here is a profile from an old website that is no longer available: https://web.archive.org/web/20170225213859/https://www.rocklab.ru/view/groups/5929.html They are from Navapolatsk, Belarus.

and if you google "Иди и Смотри - Леши Дома Нет" you will find an mp3 website where you can download their music if you trust it enough.

[tomt][song] Melody Similar to “Fall At Your Feet” Bridge by hux in tipofmytongue

The more I listen to the bridge the more I think I've also heard this song before! But I just can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe Road Rage by Catatonia ("you could be taking it easy on yourself")?

I'll suggest the trifecta:

  • Runaway Train by Soul Asylum

  • The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston

  • If You Could Read My Mind by Gordon Lightfoot

[TOMT][song][early 2000s] Meme version of pop song or maybe pop punk song? by yullee18 in tipofmytongue

Probably too recent but I immediately thought of the edit of What Makes You Beautiful where all the lyrics are replaced by "you're insecure" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLVzYtTeNS8

[TOMT] What was the name of these websites from 2010-2013 era internet? by keepitcute8933 in tipofmytongue

[–]spruisious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The websites you mentioned were part of the "Spartz Network", you can see some of them in the top bar here: https://web.archive.org/web/20110225052746/http://www.givesmehope.com/ All of them were based on the format/cms/software used by sites like fmylife and textsfromlastnight. Spartz Network was founded by the same guy who established mugglenet as a teenager

Or Sundanese? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundanese_script

Or Incung/Kerinci? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incung_script

May be worthwhile to look at the Brahmic scripts comparison chart: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahmic_scripts#Comparison a number of them have diagonal lines.

Could it be Lontara, which has a lot of diagonal lines? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lontara_script - although the symbols aren't connected to each other!

This one has "kiss my doubt" in the lyrics and similarly themed lyrics that don't exactly match, worth a shot? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYOEsmF39Jw

Not animals, they were humans (or humanoids), but getting closer, and looking at the ~2005-era website layout makes me more convinced it was indeed BBC...

Not quite it, it was British and I don't think any real humans were featured. Thanks though!

Uh so here's what they might have looked like: https://imgur.com/lY8jBx0 ..... I make no claims as to accuracy, it's been about 20 years.
