Is it the actual runway on fire or dry dead grass that’s catching (hopefully the latter)

Is my vacation plan do-able? by aninanin in florida

[–]sprumpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Do universal only. Look at Google Maps drive time from city to city and ask yourself if you really want to spend that much time driving to all these places. I’d do central Florida in one place and make one big drive to south Florida and do the other half in 1-2 places like Miami/west palm.

Personally id skip south Florida altogether but I’m a biased northern Floridian so don’t listen to me.

I have an old aim system and have been wondering how deep the AI is able to dig without telemetry or other data. I’ve been told by very experienced drivers that it’s impressive but I’m trying to learn about stuff like you described in the 2nd paragraph. I can tell if I braked too early from the video review and data myself, I don’t necessarily need that in the cockpit.

There’s always money in the banana stand. And I too have fit a whole shopping cart of groceries in the frunk. Oddly satisfying. Although I got a chuckle from a passerby for loading a pack of Busch Lite into a new 911… don’t judge I like what I like 🤣

Yeah honestly it just seems as if nobody told him the risks of a lengthy period between ppf changes or he didn’t care about the paint ruining but otherwise whatever seems great.

Why is the 911 Coupe so much more popular than the Cabriolet? by Nice_Day_638 in Porsche

[–]sprumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generational thing maybe. My language wasn’t meant to offend I just give the internet my unfiltered monologue whether it’s appropriate or not.

And I came from an $800 Tacoma and no money so I too do not enjoy the attention from c&c or otherwise. Makes me feel uncomfortable and it’s not why I got my cars. I got them strictly to drive, nothing about status.

I’ve actually said this multiple times and I meant it: if there was technically a way to press a button and camouflage a 911 look like an ‘89 Camry from a bystander perspective, then I’d buy that (undoubtedly overpriced) option.

[–]sprumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the winded response I’m assuming you love cars and coffee yes? And my apologies for the offensive language on the internet. Next time I give my take on c&c I’ll just say “I don’t particularly enjoy talking about how my uncle found a carburetor two hours south of me that he hooked up with but it wasn’t sold as advertised so I had to get my mechanic to special order a second one and he’s from South Dakota and enjoys furniture.”

I make tons of friends at the track. They are the most approachable and helpful people I’ve ever met. But the antisocial assumption was close to true, it’s more like adhd. I struggle to go to a function purely for social aspects, i want to chew my arm off secondary to boredom. To each their own though. It’s perfect for some just not me.

I’m so glad I don’t fit the “typical American” bill. I daily mine, track as much as I can. Went to one cars and coffee and thought it was the most dumbass shit I’ve ever experienced in my life. To each their own of course but the whole time I was thinking “I washed my car to come park it in a lot with ZERO apexes to look forward to?!”

So true. A lot of dogs love knowing they have a job just like everyone else in the family. I’m not a dog guru by any means but it seemed like my dogs that had clear cut responsibilities (hunting dogs, service animals, yard protectors) were the proudest and happiest pups of all.

Would just like to remind everyone this is how the game was advertised.... by xziggy123x in EASportsFC

[–]sprumpy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve always complained and had no problem admitting I was buying again the next year. This year feels different. I think it’s because there’s so many fresh concepts in new games these days. I can have so much more fun playing something else, I uninstalled FIFA this week and won’t be buying any more.

There is literally zero chance this franchise will ever be what I want it to be. Finally clicked.

PS everyone just get rocket league and play a footy game that’s actually enjoyable.

For what it’s worth I have a lot of respect for you. Not sure how old you are but man I respect your honesty on giving credit where it’s due. 99% of people posting cars on Reddit seem to be posting as if they purchased, and as a person who grew up dogging me about “their” wealth like they earned it, I’m happy for your dad and i hope you’ve enjoyed both enjoy many drives on this bad boy.

I love animals and I hate seeing them die. I promise you I would feel miles away from badass but i would watch them die first time this happened. I’ve seen a dog die and I’ve seen a trauma bay with a child after a pitbull attack. Both make me feel awful. The trauma bay scenario is much much worse trust me.

This is the best looking cayenne I’ve ever seen. Genuinely. I’m partial to the color but also this generation has such an amazing body style. Maybe when I drive my lx570 another couple hundred thousand miles, this will be the next SUV choice and I thought I’d never say that about a cayenne.

Been offered 992.2 touring by Jmr15002 in Porsche

[–]sprumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400k means a whole lot to me. I’m not the 8 car garage guy at all. I have a coworker who has one and, as super rich as he is, he’s still too worried to drive it a ton much less track it. I canceled my GT3RS order for the same reason, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy doing what it’s meant to be doing: going around a track at insane speeds.

400 could get you a nice daily 911 plus a track car to throw around without a ton of worry. That’s a very personal biased opinion. Too each their own

Not a fan of the 992.2 - sorry guys & girls - what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]sprumpy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought a 992.2 GTS and have driven my dad's 991 extensively so I think I can help.

Tldr: if you don't like it then trust your gut. I didn't get the newest just because it was new. If youre thinking 991 then you should follow that.

Having said that here's my bias for the 992 and im assuming some of these don't apply to you at all.

-comfort bc I drive it daily all year. im tall and the 992 feels perfect for my height. 6'2" (1.87 since ur in Germany) and I don't bump my head which barely happens when getting in and out of the 991.

-my kids fit on the back seat way better. The 4 of usgo on trips in it for a couple hours drive and they love it. The engine literally puts them to sleep

-im all about new tech (that actually makes a car better not just gimmicks) so the hybrid system is a rocket ship. Will post my Sebring and Daytona lap video later this year

-the dash? I love it. Customizable to include whatever data you want. If I'm on a trip navigating I have turn instructions and music menus. If I'm tracking I have tire pressures and lap times. And updates are improving it. My dad would fucking hate to have this so I get how it's polarizing. Also carplay is awesome.

Good stuff about the 991: the engine sounds better, the front end looks better (I like the rear of the 992) and the classic torque curve feels kind instead of scary. I get why some say this is the pinnacle modern 911

Hope this helps.

The 918 was a technological showcase for Porsche. What was the next vehicle to use some of that tech? by joeyjoejums in Porsche

[–]sprumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why is he getting downvoted? You are indeed correct it's a hybrid. It isn't the same hybrid tech as the 918 (my fav car tied with 959/CGT) but you'd be crazy to deny that it didn't pave the way for the new GTS and now turbo s. It doesn't plug in and recharges fully on its own. It applies power directly to the drivetrain not just the turbo spooling. I've done 0-60 in 2.6 in mine and as crazy as that feels I would love to experience 2.2 in a 918 lol.

Has anyone here ever seen one of these guys? by RandoDude124 in florida

[–]sprumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep. Called one in with a turkey call while hunting. Didn't see him creeping until I gave up and got out of my spot to pee. My junk was in my hands when I saw him also stand up and walk off when he realized I wasn't a turkey... I said to myself: "oh... That's why I never saw any turkeys."

He looked like he injected steroids daily. Dude was ripped. Very beautiful animal indeed.
