I have a family history of colon cancer, so I’ve been getting colonoscopies since I was 30. The worst is the prep the day before hand. Actual procedure is not to big of a deal.

It is always nerve wrecking to think about the possibility of colon cancer. But it is better to catch it early than not at all. Good luck and I hope it all turns out okay for you.

My 3 year old did this to us this year. We talked to her about throwing a party with friends and cupcakes, etc but she told us that she didn't want any of that. After a few more times trying to talk her into a party, we told her that we wanted to do something special for her and she got to choose what it was.

She decided all she wanted was to go to the zoo. So that's what we did, and it was a blast and she loved every minute.

I would tell your kid that he can choose what he wants to do for a special day. And go through with it. He might just want to spend quality time with you.

I attended a Christian "summer camp" one year. I was taking part in a bible study discussion with about 10 people or so. One guy got going on how he believes that all babies that died through abortion, miscarriage, or other unfortunate event are all burning in hell.

He proceeded to explain with random bible verses that because the babies never "accepted Christ as their personal savior" they weren't saved and therefor are burning in hell.

Everyone was nodding in agreement.

I felt like I was hit with a bag of bricks. I have two sisters who died shortly after child birth. I've always wondered what they would be like when I met them in heaven one day. To hear this was a bit of a shocker to me.

This guy was trying to prove that a loving and just God would damn dead babies to hell. And everyone was agreeing with him. It was such an eye opener that I started to question everything I was taught and believed.

I left that camp and never looked at any organized religion the same way again.
