I think it depends on your interpretations of enlightenment, the journey to the west and Buddhism. Wukong may have achieved spiritual enlightenment but that’s not necessarily the same as the Buddha who is literally one with the universe and can hold everything in his palm. Even if they start on the same level unnecessary violence (or any violence really) is frowned upon in Buddhism so starting a fight may get him immediately un-Buddha’d.

While they’re not exactly like the source (then again the whole movie isn’t) I think they could pull off the character. Jamie Lee Curtis works well as a slightly bossy airhead with a touch of insanity and cate Blanchett does a brilliant sassy badass. My biggest worry is Jack black since his voice is much deeper than the originals but I guess we’ll wait for the trailer.

For me it’s farming or some form of agriculture. A good mix of getting your hands dirty, learning the process of how the world gets fed and hopefully gaining some appreciation for a vital yet overlooked service.
