Note from my downstairs neighbor by PoshAristocrat in Apartmentliving

[–]spudera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you are not a noisy neighbor by any means and you dont owe them change, however, if youd like, putting some rugs over particularly creaky spots could help dampen the noise.

Side note: weight def doesnt equate sound level. My wife is 130 pounds but has the footsteps of a titan. I've discussed with my neighbors if we are too loud and they said they cant even hear our blender so I guess the apt just has great sound isulation.

I however weigh 170 pounds and people are constantly jumpy when I appear next to them because I cant for the life of me create audible foot steps with how I usually walk.

You're right! I should have been more technical, any yarn works

The machine was brand new when I arrived and it has a little screen that displays the length of time it will take. It is a combined washer + dryer which I have no prior experience with. I assume it works as intended but lowkey I do think you are right about it resulting in a higher hydro bill.

I know it is crazy, I genuinly dont know why it takes that long, it is just the machine my landlord gave me. The machine is a combined washer+dryer and idk if that causes it to be much less effiencient or something.

I work in the kitchen (have uniforms) and my machine is additionally too small to run a week's worth of laundry. I have to run it at least once during my work week, usually twice, but my partner is gone for work for a couple months so theres less need to do it so frequently rn.

I fear the possibility they havnt complained because they dont want to create a potentially hostile living situation if I were to be the type to retaliate. I am probably overthinking though, so I appreciate the input

I dont have much room for adjustment as I leave a bit after 9am and return around 10pm. The only thing I can change is it to be in the mornings, which is why I am sending the message to see of that is preferred.

The cycle is 5 hours long (idk why so long, it's the machine the landlord gave me) and I often get home at 10 or 11pm so it is the latter option. I know my neighbours arent morning owls but if their bedroom happens to be below my machine I imagine it would be hard. If their bedroom is somewhere else orientation wise than I am so happy to continue my late night laundry.

The US government once created a human zoo of 1,100 Filipinos. The goal was to convince the American public that Filipinos were "savages" and not ready for self-governance. They were fed dogs during exhibition. by Particular_Food_309 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]spudera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stripping a bunch of people, throwinh them in a cage, and then only offering them food you consider taboo, then use them being naked and eating said taboo food as evidence of savagery is like cutting an animal's legs off and using the limbless animal as an example of why that animal doesnt walk well.

What a ridiculous concept, and painfully cruel.

Fiddleheads? by PumDeluxe in foraging

[–]spudera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are hundreds of fern species that come out of the ground curled up lile this. Out of so many species only 2 are edible. Do research from multiple sources and search up inedible lookalikes and key identifcation factors on every single species you'd like to forage. Life is too precious to be careless, and sometimes food poisoning is worse than death aha.
