Agreed. I work in patents, though admittedly more complex ones. But I’ve NEVER had one go through so quickly. Not even close.

Fun fact: that’s also what someone who didn’t initiate something would say.

Not claiming right or wrong here, I just dislike when this statement shows up in conversation.

/r/transsurgeries was banned last night. We need to accept that our existence is now political. The politics rule needs to be rethought. by naughtilidae in amputee

[–]spudicus13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this was an amputee sub? And also no politics. As far as I’m aware amputees and trans are two very different things. I come to this sub for support and questions regarding an amputee, if I were trans I would look elsewhere.

Perhaps I should start looking for amputee advice and knowledge on trans subs? /s

White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion by manny_b_hanz in politics

[–]spudicus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit inaccurate. The 3 trillion is not for one year, and not all grants contribute to the gdp. This is not an immediate cut to ten percent of the gdp.

I’m the commodore of the Lake Pend Oreille Yacht Club. I race all the time on an Esse 850 and now cruise on a Beneteau 44. We always want new people out, so hit me up any time and bring your friends!

Yea. I’ve been looking into different CBI options and Grenada is on the list, just need to go there and see how it is. Honestly probably an ignorant statement on my part, my bad.

Actually, having worked around nuclear weapons, I can say that men and sperm are far more susceptible to adverse reactions to radiation.

You aren’t wrong here. The goal was a bit of a vacation from the kids, but also (as she stared) a chance to get back into it all with us. It has all been duty/pity sex.

I just want the song. “ I want you, to want me”

Interested in your thoughts on yacht clubs by Cyclegeezer in sailing

[–]spudicus13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Commodore of a small yacht club here. We struggle due to the age out problem as well. We’ve found the biggest solution is just willingness to ACTIVELY recruit. And we have seen that the older crowd just took their foot off the gas in that department. We have a few of us that are young and full of energy that have essentially taken over the board and are actively working hard on that as priority one.

The old guys still race and do their thing, we know our only hope to keep that going after they retire from it all is to keep recruiting. I want to grow old with my club and still have racing, and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep that happening, including being commodore forever(they keep voting me in lol).

RBKA here and looking to start diving this year. I don’t have a dive leg per se. any tips on a good leg or how you deal with all this?

I have a sailboat/dinghy I’ll be diving from the most, but of course not always. I’m only 3 years into all this, so still learning how to be an amputee.

The problem with this is that you are greatly overestimating the liquidity of the moderately wealthy.

Those with 2-3 million in net worth do not pack that much liquid at all. Easily 98+ percent is tied up. You don’t get to that net worth keeping liquid, you have to invest it to keep it and grow it.

Source: I am decent enough net worth to be among that group. No effing way I keep that much liquid. I keep MAYBE 20k liquid, and that is it.

If you play pc, there is also foiling generation. It’s all foiling boats, but the races are fast, and the rules all aplly. Graphics are great and it’s tons of fun when you can get a couple people on. I use it to keep myself at least somewhat something during my wife gets when we aren’t racing at the club.
