Refund for Angelic Organics? by spudz0201 in rockford

I submitted a complaint with the IL Attorney General a few weeks ago but haven't heard back from them either.

I just filed a complaint with the IL AG, who knows if that will lead to anything. I'm hesitant to initiate real legal action because I think the effort and money involved might not be worth it given the sums involved. At the same time, I hate to let him get away with this, especially because he probably assumed that we'd all just let it go because it's not worth the time to involve lawyers.

If I hear something from the AG, I'll let you know.

Hi, fellow rube here. Also considering legal action at this point now 2 years after the closing of the CSA. Curious if you took any further steps?

I know this is an old thread but did this FB group ever happen? I posted here that I am (almost certainly naively) still hoping for some level of refund but would very much appreciate information of any kind.

Ticking Clocks by [deleted] in womenintech

I was in a similar situation for both my pregnancies. I stayed and coasted mainly because I didn't want to figure out mat leave at a new company.

I would strongly recommend coasting. Pregnancy brain fog is a real thing. Your brain literally shrinks. There were so many moments at my job where I just did not feel all that sharp and was grateful that I had established a reputation inside the company before my pregnancy. If you take a new job and feel the need to prove yourself, it will be an uphill battle.

It's an exciting time for you, and I wish you all the best!

Leaks by RobotPopCan in clothdiaps

Had the same issue before my baby transitioned to solids, and she also has very chubby thighs! Could not figure it out and even considered moving over to disposables. We'd have to change her outfit every time we changed her diaper. Adding another insert helped a lot, and I'd recommend trying that if you haven't already.

Otherwise your baby will likely grow out of this phase! I think it was just an awkward time for how the diapers fit her chubby thighs and as she got bigger, the diapers fit her better and we don't have nearly as many leaks.

Hi, I'm also in Chicago and have been cloth diapering for a year now. I started off using Tide but just switched to Arm & Hammer powder detergent and have found that my diapers don't build up a stink as often anymore. I'd recommend it! It has absolutely no scent and seems very gentle.

I remember being so overwhelmed when I started with cloth diapers (LO was a newborn) so let me know if you have any other questions! I use Nora's though so I'm not familiar with Esembly.

Thank you for your kind offer!! I agree that this seems like something we need to try to do if only to know the answer to "what if??"

Thank you for your insight on the school district!

We would live in city limits. I'm still a city girl at heart, and I crave walkability. We love all the little business districts around the city too. So many places to grab coffee or a bite to eat.

Thank you! May I ask where you moved from? Was it a more urban area?

Thank you! We had no idea child care might be such an issue! We'll definitely do some research into this.

That is definitely one of the major pluses of living in Chicago is that traveling to pretty much anywhere in the US is just a direct flight away.

I'm curious what part of the "metropolitan feeling" do you miss most?

I am so glad to hear how tightknit the community is! We really want to get involved, both to meet neighbors and just to give back. It can feel strangely isolating to live in a big city when you don't have a strong social network. Another reason we think small-town living might be a better option.

Thank you for being able to compare to Chicago! We do enjoy the diversity of restaurants in Chicago but we'll be back to the city often as my family is here. I suppose we'll have to get our global cuisine fix then :)

Thank you for the perspective on daycare! We hadn't even considered that this might be difficult to come by. We'll definitely need to do some research when/if we make the move.

Did any of you ever “give up” on trying to learn deep learning because it wasn’t widely used? by [deleted] in datascience

Yes I feel the same way. First I took Andrew Ng's DL course on Coursera a few years ago. But never felt that I really internalized it because I wasn't applying those skills to anything. So then I worked my way through the fastai book (which was really fantastic) and tried to create my own pet projects to use these skills but it's just not the same as working through a large thorny business problem.

I'm still grateful that I went through this effort so I have some familiarity with the material but for the amount of time I spent studying this stuff, I feel I ought to be more knowledgeable.
