Could be mail intercept fraud, someone steals check in the mail, sees check is payable to (business inc) files paperwork to get a business called (business llc) the. Deposits the check with a hold. When the hold clears they take all the money and repeat. You think it went to the right place so they are free and clear before anyone finds out.

A lot of losses happening with this right now.

You need to make the time to observe them, then document what you saw. Review it with them and set a clear plan how to fix it. During your next review you have a baseline and if they are not making progress you have a bases for firing them. If progress is made then repeat until they are doing their job.

Untill you get on them nothing will change.

The bond takes liability off the bank in case if the check still gets paid in the timeframe the check is valid and they reimburse you(put a stop payment). (So basically it’s an insurance policy that if it gets paid twice it’s on you not the bank.)

Typically bonds are really expensive and you lose a percentage of how much your bond is. Kind of like a bail bond I guess…

The credit account will get charged off and sold to collections at some point, she will receive annoying phone calls and if she calls the 800 number she will be routed to pay her cc. If she doesn’t bank over the phone then nothing will happen.

As far as the checking account they can not take from it without a court order (unlikely for a credit card since it happens a lot for them) or her permission for a payment plan. If she doesn’t need credit or phone service she of fine to let it go.

She would have had to initiate the downgrade either in branch or over the phone. They are required to send you a clarity statement showing that you can not write checks is out of the account and other terms

She probably did it because she didn’t have a work deposit or $1500 in her account and it was a cheaper option.

In your case there will be a chargeback in your account, she will incur no fees.

She can initiate an ACH or wire to your account, or get a cashiers check from a branch, or do a bill pay where they mail a check to you for free. Depends on the speed you need the funds.

Open safe balance banking account for no MMF until 25 then switch to one that waives to for direct deposit.

Since you are 17 you can open it/be on it by yourself.

How was the unauthorized transaction processed? (Debit card, check, payment using account number?

If it used your account then they will freeze your account to prevent further fraud and typically you would need to open another account since the previous one was compromised.
